Am I massive fish if I buy BTC on Coinbase to xfer to Binance to purchase Alts, done this twice now whilst drunk over Xmas - forgetting it’s likely cheaper to purchase ETH (lower fees?) to effectively do the achieve the same thing.

Also when I’ve got my alts sitting in Binance how the hell do I get them off/which wallet can handle all the coins?

Sorry lots of newb posts in a row it appears must be a bubble

Shameless shill, but if anyone is gonna open a Revolut account I’ll pm you a referral. I get to trade crypto on there for 3 ref’s apparently. (No idea if it’s worthwhile!)

Which Alt coins are you bullish on for long term hold minimum 1 year? Give us a price prediction and length of time. Bear in mind these are just my own personal opinions but I like to hear other people's opinions as well, so feel free to tell me about your coins.

Mine are:
Icon (ICX). I am extremely bullish on this coin, it will reach $175-$200 within a year and I wouldnt be surprised if it hit $1000 in a few years. All the obvious great tech/team/vision but the icing on the cake, is that it's Korean and it's the first. They love their Crypto's and they love to support their own, this hasn't even hit the Korean exchanges yet but once it does, be prepared. They have also formed an alliance with 2 other players in the Asian market.

Wanchain: This is equally something special indeed, it hasn't hit the exchanges yet but is expected to this month. Wanchain together with ICX and Aion form the interoperability Alliance. I expect Wanchain to be a top 10 coin within a year and will going to a 100 billion market cap does not seem implausible at all.

Ethos: Have a great vision, great team and are about to release their Universal Wallet. This is a game changer, you know how you need a different wallet for all the different coins, well Ethos will make all those wallets redundant. They plan on being so much more than just a universal wallet though, they are called the coinbase killer and they might just pull that off! This will be huge guys, they plan to bring Crypto to the masses, once mass adoption is accomplished this will be a top 10 coin.

I think if things plan out right we could see tremendous growth for 2018. I am expecting this to hit $150 for 2018 and $500 within 2 years. This could be at $5000 in 5 years. This coin is extremely undervalued right now, it's only $4.5, get in while you can!

I am bullish on some others but I don't think they will multiply like the 3 mentioned above, that's because they are already established with a big market cap already.

Within a year:
Cardano should hit $4-5 within a year, sits currently at 80cts.
Lisk should hit $300-$400, sits at $20 at the moment.
Omisgo should hit $200, sits at $20 right now.
0x should hit $10, sits at $90cts.
Neo should hit $2000, sits at $90.
Steem should hit $75, sits at $6.5

There are tons more, blockchain is the future imo, we are only at the very beginning right now, think dial up internet, or those wacky huge mobile phones from the 90's. But things are growing at an exponential rate, so keep that in mind. Crypto and stocks are similar but crypto's grow exponentially, they can literally skyrocket within a year, I'm talking about massive 1000x your initial investment.

Do your own research, especially if you haven't heard of these coins, read their whitepaper, check their teams. Check them out on Reddit, Twitter and Facebook.

Anybody got any coins they'd like to share that they thin have huge potential?

Maybe you can, maybe you won't. Just because you could have made money off of most ****coins over the last 12 months doesn't mean the bull market will last forever.

The project isn't going to be the next btc or btc 2.0 and the project won't be used by the big banks to setctle up. The worst thing about xrp is that if banks did start using ripple tech, they wouldn't need to burn much xrp to use it. You're investing in a token that has little to do with the centralised technology behind in.
What makes you say banks won't use it to settle up?

I think Litecoin is cheaper and faster. Then just exchange your litecoin for Eth/BTC at Binance, then buy whatever alt you want with eth or btc.

Coinbase is very expensive, you are better off, transferring your $$$ from Coinbase to Gdaxx first. This is instant and free. Then buy LTC or ETH from there and then transfer to Binance. If you buy directly from CB, you will get screwed big time with ****ty rates.

Gdaxx is a sister company of Coinbase, so if you are signed up to CB, then you can use the same login details for Gdaxx but you don't pay any fees. Check Youtube for some tutorials, it's really simple once you've done it a few times.

Wallets: Depends which coins you have, there isn't a universal wallet yet, well at least not a secure 1. I use the Ledger Nano, it's a hardware cold storage wallet and it's the safest option, unhackable. But it does not store all coins, I bought Cardano and had to use Cardano's own wallet for that, so it depends on which coin.

If you aren't going to purchase much, I'd keep them on Binance but keep in mind that if the exchange gets hacked then you might lose your coins. There are online wallets too but I don't like using them but they are probably a little safer than leaving them on Binance.

Once Ethos brings out their Universal Wallet (UW) then we can all use that, it will be unhackable, just like the ledger nano.

The ledger costs $80 or so, but if you are storing a lot of ERc20 tokens then it's a good investment. Otherwise just use one of the online wallets, just google crypto online wallets to find some.

If you plan to go the ledger route then make sure you google that it supports the coin you want to transfer. Ethos's is wallet is coming out soon, so that might save you $80.

Alright, time to test how ridiculous this market can truly be. What's the most common word associated with any sort of altcoin hype? The one word everyone wants to hear? Yep, "moon". Well, it turns out that there is a coin called $moon that you can buy for 2 satoshis, or $0,000298.

Funnily enough, they actually seem to have a pretty good team and decent amount of activity on reddit, bitcointalk, twitter, etc so it's not even a completely dead coin.

Is there any chance this won't...moon? Well, to be fair, yes there is but **** it I just bought a big bag Pretty epic sweat as well when the value dropping by a mere one satoshi will make you lose half your investment. Yolo.

FWIW, they say ripple is actually centralised and those big banks they are working with now don't even use XRP for their transactions.
How long does something like this take. I transfered ethereum from my coinbase wallet to the wallet I downloaded for my phone, and ten minutes later it still isnt there. I copied the line that says "your ethereum address" into the send section of the coinbase ethereum wallet.

In uk you can use coinfloor.co.uk to purchase bitcoin with gbp directly, min deposit is £2500

downsides are you can only buy bitcoin and you can only register 1 bitcoin wallet to withdraw to so would go something like coinfloor->ledger and then from there to binance.

also another downside is withdrawing bitcoin is done 3 times a day during working hours rather than instant.

On the plus side I have initiated transfers from bank account at like 4am twice and had it in coinfloor at 9am and 1pm same day.

also looks like they might add litecoin eth bch sometime soon??

obv with bitcoin fees atm probs only worth doing on bigger amounts.

After sitting on the sidelines watching price movements the last few years I finally got my **** together and money deposited on GDAX.

Got tired of waiting for XIV crashes in the stock market (inverse of VIX) and have moved a portion over to GDAX. Bough a bunch of Litecoin over the last week or so (long-term holding) and some GBTC for short-term swing trading.

Medium term goal is to keep a healthy balance in my brokerage account to take advantage of whatever is temporarily crashing between GBTC and XIV and then transfer the profits over to GDAX for longer term buy-and-holds.

I'm hoping they add Monero and Dash to GDAX in the next few months. Ideally I will be diversified between BTC/LTC/ETH/DASH/XMR/ADA but that is more of an 18-24 month plan.

Yes, I will once again shill my MTL bags.

The thesis: currently not many people are in crypto. Whoever can tap into the general public market and get them in to crypto, gets a pot of $$$.

The goal: provide a mechanism for an on-ramp to cryptocurrency that is appealing to the general public and incentivized.

The solution: MetalPay, with their token MTL, and upcoming app (iOS in Q1 2018, Android and web apps to follow) Metal Pay.

Why I think MTL can attract wide audiences better than competitors such as REQ: Incentivization. Each transaction you are involved with on the Metal Pay app (USD to MTL conversion, send MTL to a friend, send USD to a friend, receive MTL from a friend, receive USD from a friend), nets you a 5% reward in the form of MTL tokens from a finite pool that was set aside at the creation of the token. The 5% is based on the USD value that you send or receive, so if you send $100 and MTL is worth $1 a coin, you get 5 MTL coins back. If you send $100 and MTL is worth $10 a coin, you get 0.5 MTL coins back. So the higher the valuation of MTL, the longer their PoPP can last. You will also receive bonus MTL when you refer friends, your friends refer friends, your referred friends referred friends refer friends, you refer businesses, etc. If you aren't familiar, this is the story of how Paypal blew up. .

When a user opens their app, they are going to see their MTL balance (analogous savings account), and USD balance (analogous checking account). Right off the bat everything looks like stuff the general public is familiar with (looks like a banking app, send and receive $ like Venmo/PayPal). The difference is they get these small MTL rewards from participating, which introduces them to crypto. There are gamification elements and incentives built into the app that reward good financial behavior (e.g. saving/holding your MTL to earn more). Once they get their feet dipped in, they can choose to buy MTL directly from the app with their USD.

Now the tech behind it isn't that revolutionary per se - it just uses the Ethereum framework and KYC verification to insure no abuse of the PoPP system. The distribution system (PoPP) is the unique aspect of this coin.

Once this app catches on, my thinking is. Why would someone use REQ to send USD or crypto to a friend when they could use the MTL app and get 5% back in MTL? Why would someone pay Coinbase 4% in fees, or even 0.01% in fees, when they can buy MTL with USD and get 5% back in MTL for free, and then just convert their MTL to whatever ****coin or BTC they want?

Here is a video of the app in action:

Siri integration:

Anyway, I'm probably one of the biggest MTL fans/shills there is so feel free to ask any questions, or present your argument as yo why you think MTL can't be successful. Personally I think at the current price, compared to other players in the game, like REQ, and especially something like TenX which is nothing more than a debit card, the risk/reward level for this coin is huge (btw MTL will also have debit and credit cards). If it truly becomes a Venmo/Coinbase of crypto, the sky is the limit.

I learned about Ethos from Suppoman on youtube. I'm a fan of the wallet idea, but mostly a fan of them eventually being able to convert fiat to coins.
If the wallet is a success I'd guess we'd see a pretty big pump. If they actually ever allow you to convert fiat to coins then it will absolutely explode.
