Been holding ACAS from my boredom trades of EK/AMD/ACAS. Up about 12% today on strong volume, may look to add not sure yet.

you mean when they report excessive cash burn and losses coupled with disappointed pre numbers ?

I'm the first to admit I'm a n00b trader, and this may be a really big mistake, but I was thinking about shorting palm because I believe fundamentally they are a short, have negative earnings expectations, and the pre sucks + they have really bad sales numbers.

But....

everyone on fast money thinks this is a short, on that one show options action or whatever they were all talking about bearish plays for this stock, its in the top 10 % wise of most shorted stock relative to shares outstanding, and I've been watching the options volume over the past few trading days and put buying is heavily out numbering call buying.

Seems like everyone is against this stock, and while it makes sense because of the fundamental aspects, it just makes sense for me in a weird kind of way that from a risk/reward standpoint betting that this stock will explode to the upside on ANY good news (or squeeze) and making a killing outweighs the risk of them saying what everyone already seems to know and the stock loses a couple points.

Heh. I've been having some problems with Palm too. Everything in me says that I need to short it but something is stopping me doing it. Normally I'm just buying companies and debt that I find cheap (not saying I'm any good at it). And at the moment I'm mostly long a lot of debt, so I guess I'm too conservative to short Palm.

Wow I'm so screwed for my citi Dec 5 calls. Any thoughts. ? Salvage what I have now or ride it out and average down since I still have a mdew months. But the government plans to sell its stake.

Out 1/2 ACAS at 3.36, the other half at 3.31. Will keep an eye on it.

sorry seems like a standard question but when u sell shares and they say it will take t + 3 days to arrive, does that include the day u sell them? I sold shares on monday around midday. Should i be receiving the money today (its thursday morning here in Sydney).

im starting to get long term bearish on ebay. This is an old trade but I think its worth considering going long amzn, short ebay again. If you do a quick glance over ebays message boards you see alot of pissed off sellers that ebay doesnt seem to care about. Alot of them will leave for amzn or other auction sites

What prompted the 8.8% jump in VLO this morning? Oil prices are about the same as yesterday.

Oil price is up on speculation about Iran's ability to make a bomb. I think we are starting to see everything stack setting up a very similar Q4 to last year. With the plummetting dollar and tension in the Middle East, oil could go $100+ (and will got to $200 if Israel strikes). Combine this with a bit to overzealous recovery in the market and I could see general market declines being supported by strength in commodites only to see the 2nd bubble burst post-Christmas. I sold out a bit early, and got short too early but now feel pretty good about my positions.
