You should remove "welcome to" from the content heading.

The smaller logo definitely looks better with that menu (as long as you reduce the amount of text in the menu).

Have you considered using a vertical menu in the sidebar instead?

I'd like to see your phone number and the "start now" cta higher on the page.

Thx. I have been messing around with it today and have fixed some things.
I unfortuantely can't get the side bar any higher.

As far as getting the menu to be verticle its a great idea. I would have to rewritee the CSS scripts personally and I don't have that ability yet. I have a book though so I am going to start looking into it.

Again thanks to everyon for their input it is really appreciated. I 2+2.

I would keep the horizontal menu, but remove some of your items (put them as sub-menu items), so you only have 1 line. Could you try making that change to see how it looks?

Much much better!

- have you considered changing the colourscheme of the theme to the same blueish colour as your logo?

Also, a small thing, "Contact us" is usually located on the far right in menus. I don't know if you had any specific thought about the order you currently have or if its just random?

Locating menu-elements in a commonly used order helps your visitors to navigate around.

If you ever need a color code just screen shot the image, paste it to Photoshop, and highlight a small spec of the color you want. Copy the little spec into a new file, go to export it as a .gif and it'll show it for you on the right side.

My tricks for figuring out colors:

Images:

Right click and copy the image. In Photoshop, select File > New (Photoshop will use the dimensions of the copied image) > OK > Edit > Paste.

Click on the Background/Foreground or Font color selector in Photoshop, click on the color in the pasted image that you're trying to figure out.

HTML/Font/Web/non-image colors:

Firebug - Firebug is a plug in for Firefox (you can also get Firebug Lite and similar tools for chrome).

Open the Firebug console > click Inspect > click the area of the page/font/text you're trying to get the color code for > The CSS properties will be displayed in the right pane of the Firebug console > Find the "color" property.

Hey folks,

I'm considering selling a) my mildly popular poker tools website (http://www.evplusplus.com) and b) my equity calculator http://sliceeq.com. I've got a couple major life changes on the way and won't have as much time as I'd like to spend on them.

ev++ gets 200-300 uniques a day and makes no money but it does drive traffic to the Slice website.. The Slice website gets 20-50 uniques a day, but it does generate revenue through sales of the app (Slice is a freemium business model and I have sold ~200 licenses for full copies and it has been downloaded >3k times).

So my questions are these: is flippa the best place to sell websites? Does anybody know if I can I sell software like Slice there too (I guess I'd just sell sliceeq.com and include the software?). Ideally from my perspective I'd sell the two websites + application as a package and I'm wondering what the best way to go about this would be.

You might want to try and sell them to CR/LP/BFP/DC, etc first.

I'd consider listing it in the 2+2 marketplace before flippa.

The tools seems really nice and should be a good addition to a number of existing poker related sites.

Thanks! The tools are nice for sure but the website/navigation could use a serious makeover.

Just wanted to thank everyone again for their help. I have seen a dramatic increase in potential clients contacting me already! Obviously sample size of just this week is small but still!

I would pay the $xxx to have a professional create a stylesheet with nice typography and layout for your site. The font used for "There is a way out" is ridiculous. And you're using multiple fonts in your headlines on the same page...wtf. Your "design eye" is horrible, let a professional designer do their job.

Yeah, you're really close. Adobe also offers a free trial of Photoshop.

You should download one or both of those and the anivers font.

I'd also consider adjusting the padding of #slider_area .right_side (line 789 of style.css). I'd probably make it padding: 35px 10px; (or top and bottom 35px / left and right 10px).

Anyone have a graphic designer they would recommend for the occasional 1-off job? I keep having one or two projects a month that would take a pro an hour but end up taking me five and not looking nearly as good.
