Hey guys. So it seems I have a brilliant idea for a simple product that has not been thought of before. What is the easiest way to go about getting a patent? when I do get a patent, what happens, do I just sell my idea to the highest bidder? are there bidders?

if anyone could tell me the easiest way to go from having a very good idea to selling a product that makes money (assume my idea is good) that would be great.

im thinking typing patent into google will get you the best information.

Ideas don't make money. Everyone's got ideas. Brilliant executions of ideas make money. Unless it's science/tech research that really hits on something new, your idea is worth next to nothing. Your best bet is to actually implement it... at least on a small scale so you have proof of concept ready.

The easiest and probably most common method is to get the patent and then sell it to a company that is already established in the field. Much simpler and less risk obv. at the cost of possible huge returns. I would imagine if your idea/product is good enough you could set up some sort of small percentage deal based on sales.
