I play poker full-time and am wanting to invest somewhere in the region of £5-10k in various avenues. Im moving to London in the coming month for 1 yr and am hoping someone will be able to recommend a financial adviser who has:

a) Some experience of dealing with poker players investments

OR

b) Is just sick good at investments and offers reasonable rates.

Thanks in advance

Doing it yourself is the way to go IMO. Your typical advisor will do very little work setting you up, and will then collect ~1% of assets off you in perpetuity. I'd suggest you start reading some books, I like the ones here:

With that amount of money I would recommend just investing on some ETFs and calling it a day. It probably isn't worth getting a financial advisor until you have a few hundred K to invest. As a disclosure I'm an ex financial advisor. From the financial advisor's standpoint there is really no money to be made off of you and thus no reason to keep tabs on your investments. Just buy a mix of ETFs and plan on holding them for at least 5 years imo.
