I was wanting to invest in a stock and was temporarily going to have to be using my line of credit to do so to get in at a good time before I could payoff the line of credit. I was wondering, is the interest I'm being dinged in that time able to be used as a writeoff ? Also, if I happen to lose $ on the stock, is that also able to be a writeoff ? I have a full time job apart from this. Is this considered a writeoff in Canada ?
No only margin interest is a write off I do believe. Capital losses are not a right off but you can use them later against capital gains. Full Time job in vancouver Yikes what do you mange pot houses
