I don´t have time right now to address all your claims, but I´ll start with these two statements.

Because it increases the credibility of the whole Tether scheme if people can point out the Kraken USDT/USD market and see that Tether is roughly trading at a level around the intended 1:1 peg.

They basically have a few bots running that wash trade with each other. Look at the daily Kraken Tether trading volume for a few days and you will see that it hovers around ~1M $ per day without any declines or spikes.

Also they don´t pay any fees if they trade more than 1M $ USD volume in a 30-day time frame.

Maker & Taker fees are 0 % for the USDT/USD trading pair if you reach this volume threshold.
So basically they have a few bots and don´t even need much funds to generate some trading activity that lends credibility to Tether.

You are starting to get to the real problem.

According to the richlist nearly all outstanding Tethers are located at the big altcoin exchanges (Bittrex, Poloniex). Yet the Bitfinex Margin Funding increases after new Tether issuances and the overall volume of Margin Funding has increased by a magnitude this year that is pretty much in line with Tether issuance.

the problem with this is that you dont know the top and/or bottom of the dip.
So selling at x target will give you some profits but the time sitting out waiting on a dip which is maybe not significant (enough) will cost more then just holding.

This. The upside of a strategy like that is maybe 10-25% depending how long into the dip you wait to buy? And the downside is getting stuck sitting on the sidelines while it goes up another 1000%. If you believe in the value then just buy and hold, no need to get fancy trying to time the market.

It seems pretty tame. BTC is double where it was two weeks ago. Musing that it could double again in a month isn't that extreme given the past weeks and months and years.

GDAX average volume doubled overnight. It's interesting watching people attempt to buy huge amounts just below market, and then reposition themselves every time it goes up. I wonder if people are trying to leverage the market -- it still seems tiny.
