get rich ultra quickers are simply looking for the next hit, something cheap that wasn't pumped yet to "10X" their investment and buy a rolex.

for existing coins, they believe that the majority will at some point in the future hit their ATH. For many coins that ATH is "10X" away so they see plenty of room for easy profits. They justify this fallacy by backtracking and demonstrating that altcoins followed bitcoin and ethereum's rise.

Many of them will get rekt

you can also use bitit, exmo, lakebtc, btcc from what I can tell

there is quite a bit of cool stuff out there and many have written amazing guides. Everybody does their own thing.

a back up is only a back up if two different mediums are used and stored at different locations. e.g. sheet of paper in a safety deposit box in a bank, metal at home, or digital note on sd-card produced on offline computer (If you know how to do this safely).

but paper is just fine, as long as you do a yearly security check for readability and integrity.

Worth it if u want to protect yourself from flood/fire. I’ve never used the newer cylindrical version but the original is easy enough to setup.

I wonder how much of people's gambling money that they were using to trade bitcoin has gone to the stock market to trade all these r/wsb stocks.

Just dipped below 30 a couple times. I try to get some every time atm.

If it goes down more, just better for me, but that is my current dip-buying pricepoint.

Saw an interesting stat the other day: If you ran a binary option of 3% chance BTC reaches 1 million and 97% chance it goes to 0, it's current valuation is ~67K

Trends shot pretty brutal there, rough extrapolations:

> needed to hit 100k to even have a chance at 2017 hysteria
> trends don't correct and then pump more, it's over as far as trending goes
> pool of money investing in BTC isn't much more than it was in 2017 (proven by the bid depth, all time lol relative to BTC price)
> fun narratives have moved to other ponzi waves, *every*single*bull* in this thread is ultimately only a person who saw a few early people hit the lotto and adopted some daydreams. New ponzi waves are siphoning off suckers that could have bought this top

I think the GME hysteria probably distracted a lot of people. FYI lots of people were buying DOGE today.

https://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf - if you haven't read the whitepaper yet it's a great place to start
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BPM3GZQ...ng=UTF8&btkr=1 - this book took me from "pretty interested in bitcoin" to "I'm not sure I care to own anything else"
https://medium.com/@100trillionUSD/m...y-91fa0fc03e25 this guy who goes by "PlanB" has modeled bitcoin based on the stock to flow dynamic. He is *very bullish* haha
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrR95PFYDFQ If you haven't heard of him, this guy Michael Saylor is like the new biggest bitcoin proponent in the world. This is one of a zillion interviews he's done where he explains his thought process behind putting hundreds of millions of dollars of his company (ticker: MSTR) treasury into bitcoin about 6 months ago.

Institutions are not buying in the ways we do. Sure, some guys are buying a few hundred million in measured ways through exchanges, but bigger numbers go to the source (miners & OG whales). This does not shake the books until everyone freaks out at the gradually exposed shortage, spiking the price to end this bullrun later in the year.
