Buy a “ledger nano x”. This is a hardware wallet to store your bitcoin.
Join Coinbase, you’ll have to complete KYC commensurate with the amount of money you want to transfer to the exchange (might take a week to clear all hurdles). Buy btc through coinbase pro for lower fees. Transfer to ledger nano x. End.

This is good if you are USA or European and wish to buy 0.5 - 50 bitcoin.

Google “ledger nano x” and coinbase and head for the company page. Transfering to wallet see youtube instructions.

Good luck

People that push crypto need to talk to people like they are explaining online banking and credit cards to a caveman. You need to explain why this will be easier once he gets used to it than trading furs and give him 2-3 options on the banks not 50 and the pros and cons of all of them.
I know it's not exactly the type of information everybody is looking for, and probably was not perfect in response to that poster. Low effort to quote a post though , and other people reading could find it interesting. It was also not a big deal to post to 2+2 in the first place, as I copy/pasted and formatted to 2+2.

BTC has 3 tribes:

Superbears = BTC is a scam going to 0, buy physical silver

Moonbois = BTC is going to the moon

Low intelligence subgroup: BTC will go up so I get rich
High intelligence subgroup: I will model the future structure of base elements of society, the economy, future technology paths, etc. These all (conveniently) say BTC will go up so I will get rich

Ponzi Wavers = The price is the price on the exchange. More money comes in, price goes up, money stops coming in, price goes down

CNBC is running an article that encourages black people to buy bitcoin to get rich and help fight inequality: Bitcoin is a good savings ‘Plan B’ for Black investors, says Isaiah Jackson

The guy wants to fight inequality with inequality.

If that is the premise that is the greatest article ever. Should other minorities also buy ?

Plan B is also the most aptly named day after birth control. What a 10/10 name.

Bitcoin requires you to be self sovereign. If you can't be bothered to do basic research on how to safely store your money(!) then you're better off leaving it at your local bank and meanwhile, dare I say it, having lotsss of fun staying poor.

Read a kind of funny article in the Times about a guy who has 7,002 bitcoins but lost the password to his wallet. He's tried 8 times and if he's wrong 2 more times, he loses his BTC forever. There have been a few other stories like this.

https://nyti.ms/3sgR63x

They make for entertaining reading but I wonder if stories like this could scare off retail investors.

Yes, did you just find out yesterday that Berkshire Hathaway had 50% of it's portfolio in apple after you claimed Buffet doesn't invest in tech companies like apple, to justify why he says Bitcoin is rat poison squared. Just stop man, let the price beat me, you won't.

We'll never see bitcoin under 20k again...

I don't need to verify that story as it's a non issue.

What is cool though are your many posts about bitcoin! Your conviction how bitcoin will trade under 20k again!

Didn't Buffet say in an interview many years ago, he never invested in tech companies nor did he invest in the dot com era.

He might of added Apple recently, but my point is valid, you can't trust a 90 yr old that knows nothing about technology, when you are thinking of investing in technology.

Can't be this easy to own a donkey, can it?

#Bitcoin = 35k!

Getting vibes that 30k is a bottom. We could be heading up, only up from here lol. 64k is the million $ question, but when??

Some bears in here are going to be crying hard soon. They aren't even bears to be honest, they are more like bitcoin haters. Smart bears know when to sell but more importantly they know when NOT to sell and they know when it's time to be a bull.

No way a trader/investor is a bear only, show me 1 such a person and I'll show you just how broke he is!

Paypal is going crazy, I mean it's the people buying on paypal, Paypal busy buying btc and eth like a madman from Borneo.
