Bear Mkt Done? Bear Mkt Done?

In October of 2007 with the S&P around 1600 I made a post to this thread that I thought we had entered a bear market.

Now, more than 8 months and 346 points lower I believe that this bear is about over.

The first chart below shows the beginning of the bull run in Oct 2002 and its end in October 2007, 5 years and 714 S&P points higher.

Traditionally Bull runs last 4-5 years.

The second chart below shows the decline from 1601 and a 346 or 52% retracement over the last 8-9 months.

Traditionally Bear Mkts last 9-18 months.

The triple bottom we are making now, 2nd chart, leads me to believe that we are at or near the end of this bear.

Here is a graph of the 5 yr bull run

Here is a chart of the last 8-9 mos Bear

Interesting, unfortunately due to certain circumstances outside of a chart showing a triple bottom I think we are heading down farther.

Short of the market sitting on the lows, you arent offering anything to substantiate your claims.

What's even funnier is that it basically makes this great a "Glass Half Full/Empty" debate. When I asked one of my co-workers what he thinks he said, "We'll see some good support near these current levels again." I asked another one what he thought and he said, "We're starting over with markets!"

Pretty funny **** actually.

Yeh. Bear market is done. For 1-2 weeks.
Then we will prob see a bigger down leg than the previous wave.

For the bull case, technically speaking, you need an exacta. S&P 1270 must again prove itself as support. And then then 1330 resistance needs to be eclipsed.
