My all-time favorite used to be Quotetracker w DTN IQ Feed. I think all or most brokers now offer streaming quotes w a platform. Atleast both my brokers do. I've just been using my brokers lately. Quotetracker is no longer updated or supported. Jerry Medved the creator of quotetracker started "Medved Trader" its basically identical to quotetracker. If i traded fulltime anymore id be using Medved Trader.

CGC just lost the 50 day, the RSI is not even close to oversold, and there aren't a lot of headlines that can have any of them turn on a dime. Also if you're one of the big guys now do you even bother buying a small player today (which would spike one of them)? Seems like they've got plenty of incentive to wait in the intermediate term. I'd argue that CGC probably bought Mettrum at the worst time (even though the deal is in stock).

Since only hype brought them up, stands to reason that a lack of it will bring them down. To me the only interesting question is when accumulating actually starts to make sense again. No clue. But it's not in 2016 regardless of day to day moves.

Wow, haven't heard the name Medved in a while, I used to use Quotetracker in the late 90's.

newest tim ferris podcast "becoming the best version of you" is enjoyable for market psychology and personal improvement stuff. lot of insight from adam robinson that i like. one thing i liked was the general philosophy of "if something doesnt make sense, then its got a lot more room to run". like gold continuing to go down, trumps election odds, etc. if something doesnt make sense, usually good to start betting on it.

sharp algo systems were built long before he even became president. anyone looking into doing it now is probably buying into a smarter algo's exit.

N, RAD, even LNKD which was basically a lock to be acquired. Going forward two of my favorites are TWX & NXPI.

Yeah LNKD was pretty great. Basically a lock but it traded at great prices. I played N kinda light, and I'm still sweating RAD.

I've got a good amount of NXPI. I bought 100 TWX just to keep track of it, but I don't feel strongly about it one way or the other

How do you determine if a merger arb is a good bet? The math is so simple that it seems like you'd need some inside info or expert knowledge to get any edge.

I did make some money on lnkd options although at this point it's literally picking up nickels

do you mean a true arb like short Qualcomm long NXP, or just buying NXP aka riding dirty?

Like all trading strategies, look at historical data and look for patterns. But the basic idea is that the market compensates you for providing liquidity, specifically locking up capital and taking deal risk.

Long NXPI is the arb trade. You really only short the acquirer if there's a stock component to the deal.

Yeah just the long, I don't think long+short is a true arb, those rarely exist. You still have deal risk specific risk and transaction costs.

Poker has trained me so well to ignore patterns, such an adjustment to try to predict human biases

Yeah, true arb. Same thing I suggested when the deal was announced. QCOM was one of my favorite long ideas coming into this year so it's funny to be on the opposite side (given it has run a ton) but deal has provided a nice r/r. I think NXPI could get there even without this deal, the space is clearly on fire & they have exposure to a lot of the key growth areas in tech.

I think long TWX/short T is a no brainier based on the deal structure and where both are trading. Added even more exposure this week, you are just long TWX jb?

DKS (in addition to a lot of B&M retail) crushed today on massive March put buying (one big notable was 22.6k block of $44s bto at offer), definitely think this trade has room to fall further.
