Well I lost about 40 cents of value when I panic sold CGC at 9:30:01 but rebought 120% the shares at 7.47. Hit a new high again. Blind mouse etc. Still think this will be the #1 name in the fastest growing industry in Canada.

How does someone like Icahn buy 1B in stocks around 4-5am? I guess they have access to literally anything they want any time they want? NH if that story is true.

Maybe over the counter swaps on S&P with Asian/Euro firms in the middle of their business day, maybe just clicked a mouse on some futures as well.

1B notional is around 9000 contracts in the futures i think. not even sure you're allowed to have that much on. these are questions you can only consider once you have a billion dollar bankroll

We are going to see increased spending that reaches the population at large. Higher interest rates and higher inflation are on the horizon for many years to come.
What's the best way to profit in that environment outside of real estate?

I feel like the inherent disorganization of threads makes it hard to have a real conversation. What names & sectors do you like now that the GOP is in control?

We saw some clear inflows today in a lot of the expected places (given the outcome) like defense, biotech. Banks & utilities went opposite directions as rates went crazy (s/o Myrna). I guess my major ? is what can we expect from inflation? Trump's policies require trillions & he wants tax cuts (for business as well as income). Which of the consensus moves are you fading (hospitals were crushed for instance due to the idea of no more Obamacare)?

I don't know and I don't care. But I'm really taking into consideration buying IEP.

Why do the markets like Trump so much for defense? I always assumed Clinton was the bigger war machine.

Trump referenced aging defence equipment several times in speeches. Fighter jets was an example I heard more than a few times from him.

He ran on a platform of revitalizing the "depleted" military

Man long biotech post Trump is turning into one of the 10 best trades of the year. Didn't buy enough yesterday. Was so close to pulling the trigger on GILD and passed, no idea why. Did buy back into TLGT which is doing great. Curious to see how IBB closes today.

What did you ever wind up doing with this? I just sold all my 6.85 shares (largest position) in one account and took the 7% loss there (which feels like a huge dodge after what happened). But I've got a bunch in a tax sheltered one at 4.95 that I want to take to the binary event.

Man I hate CGC.. (but only because of penis envy). I missed or gave away every opportunity to make anything on it.

Everything is getting killed in tech. My theory is that it's a rotation into new hot Trump-favored sectors, big money moving across. Add in a bit of fear and doubt and I think that explains it.
