Complete beginner -Online or Live?

Hello everyone! I have a question that I can't decide on and thought it would be good to post and get some feedback. Say you were a guy that wanted a new hobby and decided that hobby would be poker. You've never played poker and know nothing about the game. Say you also want to crush the game in as little time as possible. Now say you also have a top level coach who can coach you in either online or live. Would you get coached at online or live?
Please no answers such as read some books first. I prefer going the coach route. Thanks for any information you can provide.

Getting coached live depends on the games available to you.
For that matter, so does playing online.
Where do you live in the world? Such as "Berlin, Germany" or "New York City."

If the coach has solid live experience and games are good near you (he will know the answer to this), then I would suggest at least spending some time playing live.
Online wise, you'll get in more hands per hour. Go the online route if this player has a lot of online experience.
To simplify:
- If online experience from the coach, play some or all online.
- If live experience from the coach and good live games, play at least some live.
Don't feel you have to go one or the other and you can always increase live time and decrease online or vice versa. The important part is learning the game and becoming better. Most good online players are going to be able to find profitable online games somewhere (though in some locations these don't exist due to rake, action, few games, etc.).
