Can somebody recommend a good Live NLH Coach? Can somebody recommend a good Live NLH Coach?

Hey guys..so I'm a winning live 1/2 player and am trying to up my game a bit. I was looking at different coaches, but for the prices that most of these cost don't really want to waste money trying out a whole bunch of different ones. I'd much rather pick one coach and stick with him. I was looking at a couple coaches and wanted people's opinions or personal experience with any of these coaches.

Balugawhale
Bill "ANL" Hubbard
Bart Hanson

If anybody has any other suggestions for great live NLH poker coaches that can take me all the way up to a solid winning 5/10 player that'd be great. Thanks a lot.

Less than a week ago I did a live lesson with Bart Hanson. He met me at The Commerce Casino and watch me for two hours at 5/5 $500. I would just flash him my cards and he would take notes on hands played. We then had a two hour session afterwards discussing hands and concepts. Well worth the money imo. If you are only at 1/2 then his rate for this might be a little steep.
I also have been a subscriber to his training site for several months and I fully recommend joining there.

Yeah..his video series with deuces cracked put me on to him about 4-5 months ago. Since then I've been a subscriber to his podcasts/crush live poker video series on his website. Unfortunately, I live in South Florida and missed him when he came into town so I don't know what his lessons would be like or how effective they would be via skype

Bart Hanson is definitely the live NLHE coach with the most live NLHE experience and best live NLHE thought process among those 3 that you listed. Balugawhale also has a good thought process, but he hasn't played much live NLHE, so he doesn't have nearly as much practical live NLHE experience that Bart does.

I have played with Bart Hanson at live 5/10 NL and higher games in the LA area, and I would definitely say that he is one of the finest live NLHE cash game players that you will ever be unlucky enough to face across the felt.

I am a live NLHE pro who has been crushing 5/10 NL+ in LA since 2009, and I would definitely say that Bart Hanson is "the real deal" when it comes to mastering live NLHE.

Ok so two recommendations for Bart so far. I just contacted him to see what his rates were and see how he might be able to effectively coach me via Skype or phone. Anybody else have any other suggestions?

I think Bart Hanson is definitely a very good live NL player, and would also be an excellent coach. The other two names that you mentioned are probably also good coaches but maybe not as experienced in live play.

One other name I'd like to mention is the guy posting above your last post, ATsai. He is a 5/10+ crusher in the live LA NL scene, and he also offers, IMHO, the best live NL coaching around. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about Bart or ATsai, since I know and have played with both of them.

I recommend ATsai also. He's one of the best mid/high-stakes (if not the best) NL pros in LA and has made a name for himself in live coaching here. I've played a ton with him and received some strong coaching from him following tough sessions. Very high level thinker that breaks down hands better than anyone I've discussed poker with.

I've also heard good things about Bart, although I've never used him or discussed poker with him. I know his rep is solid.

Bill Hubbard hands down. I have been working with Bill for 7 months and I have moved from $1/$2 to $2/$5. In 210 hours I have netted over $10K. He is awesome and very reasonable...

I agree with everybody above but also check out Aesah, Don Ding.

He works with Bart Hanson's site too. Bart considers him good enough for his site, so that definitely says something!

Don teaches NL and PLO. Communicates really well, math expert too.

He's also reasonably priced.

Interesting there wasn't much feedback on Bill (ANL poker) fwiw OP I am about to have my first session with Bill tmw and will let you know what I think via PM. Could you please send me a PM on any coaches you end up working with? Mine will be skype sessions mostly as I'm not in LA nearly that often anymore or anywhere where live coaches will probably be located.

I'm looking for the best live NLHE coach for $150/hr or less btw, if any other posters have any info for me, please PM me.

Yeah I've decided to go with Bart Hanson since I'm already a seatopenpoker subscriber and am familiar with a lot of the stuff that he teaches. I think it would be most beneficial for me to continue learning his style and get personal input about my hands from him. Ill be having my first session today so I'll definitely let you guys know how it goes.
