I agree this behavior is prevalent every single night... I'm not sure why the regs are so scared of playing 3-4 handed for a few minutes in hopes that the table fills up... I mean come on. None of these guys are linus. Obviously it's not very inviting when the fun player gets stacked and the entire table just breaks instantly. The regs at 500nl literally act like vultures and it has to be painfully obvious to everyone including the guys who are bringing the action.

You see the same thing live. A game runs 2 or 3 hours longer than it probably would have because there's one donator on the table, and as soon as he leaves everyone immediately races him to the cashier. FFS, you idiots, he may not have known he was the donator but everyone instantly leaving as soon as he does pretty much pounds the message home and embarasses him so maybe he won't come tomorrow. Was that worth not playing 2 or 3 more hands so you give the guy a chance to leave before the table breaks up?

Regs today are so bad at fishery management.

I do think that some regs who understand certain etiquette when it comes to recreational players in a live environment completely lose their minds online. There was a certain really fun player that we all know who stopped playing when game filled up because it became so painfully honest the other regulars didn't want to play each other. I seriously don't expect anyone to play a tough reg for a long time till the table fills up, but there isn't one player on the planet you are giving up more money than you would expect to make if a fun player joins. Also if the fun player busts but is still at the table, for the love of god please don't insta sit out.

Btw, I think this is more relevant than ever because the games have not been running at the frequency they were for the last two years. Hopefully whenever Michigan gets in the fold we can remember to treat the players well.

Pretty much agree with this, I just think most regs are strictly thinking about their bottom line and we won't really be able to change the state of things without some sort of $ incentive for them besides how bad it looks to recs/overall health of the games. Just wish the site tried some solution like higher RB or lower rake for players willing to play short/start tables, but obviously I wouldn't expect anything proactive from WSOP.

It's an insane missed opportunity that poker sites don't give game starters some sort of bonus/discount.

Often times there are zero games going for something like stud or O8 and I'll sit down, wait an hour for someone to finally play me, and then once someone finally starts, the game grows and takes off and is full within like 10 minutes. But without me being willing to sit down and play heads up these games heads up (and the second player who joins me) these games never get started. But apparently the players are there for when the games do take off. Offering free rake or even 60% rakeback for the first 2 to sit at a table would probably significantly increase the amount of games that run.

I vaguely recall some of the early sites using prop players. Maybe paradise poker?

I definitely was in the camp of don't look like such an obvious bumhunting parasite but I recently filtered my DB for # of players and I'm printing money at 4+ players and losing HU or 3 handed. Small sample but it's enough to make me realize that the upside is just not worth it at all. I think starting tables at 1Knl+ where the rake is much lower is going to be +EV but starting tables with the way the rake is at 500nl and lower is going to be -EV for the majority of players unless you are some kind of HU god that is completely annihilating the pool but you'll never get a large enough sample to even know. That's just your ego talking.

Hey all - I am from Michigan. We recently got WSOP and I have a question:

Is anyone able to share how exactly the rakeback program works on WSOP? Everything I have found talks about APP points and Tier status; however, I can not find anything related to these in the software. I see that I have Caesar rewards and a level (currently lvl 50). However, there is no way to see how much rake I have paid and what percentage I am earning back through rewards.

Some transparency would be nice..

https://www.wsop.com/rewards/

Tier level determines the multiplier. If Silver and earn 750 Apps for the month, You paid $375 in rake and get 10x on the 750 app, So 7500 cashes out at $75. Which is 20% rakeback.

At Bronze you only get 8%.

How do I know what tier I am currently at? Is there a way to track progress?

Where do I see my current APP? Or are APP dispersed at the end of the month?

Since you have the new software that we don't have yet, I can't say. There should be a setting that makes it display how many more apps needed to get to a certain level, etc. and you will see that in the corner of the tables.

We have a level counter that doesn't seem to have a cap. Each level takes 1000 points to jump to the next one. I am lvl 50, so I have earned 50000 points. I am not sure what that means in terms of rake paid or tier status, though.

In setting, go to table layout. There should be an option to show status bar on either a) bonus or b) progress to next tier. Or at least there is for the old software version.

If that doesn’t work, try asking in the PA WSOP thread

Unless I missed a news article, the Michigan AG still has to sign the compact, and then we go from there. We also need to find out if MI will let operators launch separately, or if they want a more competitive launch.

How does it work for a tourist to Nevada?

I’m from Florida but would like to play online legally through WSOP while visiting Nevada soon.

How do I go about this? It’s allowed, right? Will I receive Caesars tier credits for playing online?

You can play as long as you are in Nevada. Sign up your account and deposit now while you are in Florida so its ready to go when you get there.

If you fail the automatic ID verification you will need to send them a pic of your ID, so better to get it set up before you get to Vegas.

Never heard of heracles and I play 10-12k hands per week of cash games...

At 500nl I think the best/biggest winning regs are angrybanana bbissick and sheatheodore in that order... there are some others that are probably better but just don't get in a lot of volume on wsop like pawneater for example.

Worst reg is ofcourse dubness but I think caseystewart also deserves an honorable mention for that spot.

At 200nl the regs are all pretty much massive nits... I think iheartdds gets in the most volume out of anybody and he probably is winning at a decent clip or else he wouldn't grind so damn much. The rake is just super high at 200nl and those guys just grind eachother down and try to cooler eachother all day. I do remember seeing some decent play from billyocean so he might be one of the better regs at that stake.
