Bovada and Winning Poker Network skins are both sites that pay in a reasonable amount of time, get Western Union payouts in a couple days, checks in a week, and wires in a week. Merge pays out checks in about 10 weeks, which is not acceptable when other USA facing sites can send checks in a week, makes no sense to deposit on merge based on that fact, and Lock/Revolution is even worse as far as payouts are concerned. Both Bovada and WPN have good cash games, a good mtt tournament schedule (Bovada is better) and Bovada has way more sit n goes than merge without a comparison, merge is completely dead on sng unless you play low to micro stakes. Winning Poker Network sng are few, about the same as Merge. I find getting paid extremely easy on Bovada and would recommend to anyone. Read the Bovada payout thread, then read the Merge/Carbon thread and you will see a huge difference in satisfaction of payouts.

Hi All,

I've played on Lock for a few months now. I like mostly everything about it. However, I would love to find a site that has more MTT action. The guaranteed MTT's on Lock are EPICALLY weak by the standards that were set by Tilt and Stars. First question is, am I aiming my expectations too high by even relating the potential of current US Friendly sites to Stars and Tilt? Secondly, Are there any sites that focus mainly on Guaranteed MTT action? Any replies are appreciated.

Thanks,

Clutch

Wrong place for this thread, but I will answer.

Bovada and Merge have the best tournaments. Bovada is anonymous tables and Merge has 2+ month cashouts unless you are able to play on Poker Host.

If you don't want to play on the sites listed above ACR is much better than Lock.

Thanks for the reply.

I apologize for posting this in the wrong place. Hopefully someone will move it to the right place. I looked everywhere on the forum trying to find where I should post this, and I decided this would be the best place. Internet poker venues. Where else would you suggest that a post such as this should be placed?

Thank you,

That's good. 1 check per week.

Also,

I have played on both Bovada and Merge. MTT action is worse than it is on Lock, BY FAR. I have accounts on each of these, well, I take that back. Merge is what now? Carbon? Isn't that the only Merge offered US Player site that is left? I realize Lock and BCP were both a part of Merge at some point, but now they've left the network. Basically, what I'm trying to say is, should I leave lock for another poker site because MTT's were my bread and butter when I played post Black Friday.

Thanks,

Might want to avoid the signature...just a little tip. It's not 1998 anymore, and the vast majority of us are adults.

Do your research and you'll find pretty easily what's going on with the wealth of info here.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply. It was a joke to put that at the bottom, as I am drinking tonight, and I am ClutchAlmighty after all. I'm here to gain knowledge, not get replies from people that point out observations that mean absolutely nothing to the contrary of what is being discussed. It wasn't directed at anyone, and if you're ridiculous enough to believe that the word Clutch was being used in the 90's, you shouldn't be on here posting, period. I appreciate the candor, but you're already making me feel like the adage that 2+2 is full of more BS argumentative responses than help is an accurate assessment.

Thank you,

Clutch

PS -- I realize that you don't care how I feel.

I live in buffalo. I play on carbon. A friend plays on lock, and another on Aced or something.

Aced and carbon are both merge, they're identical

Try out PokerHost, they pay in days instead of 10 weeks like Carbon and the other Merge skins.

Not that it matters, but what would ever lead you to believe the word clutch wasnt being used in the 90`s?

Kids these days, think they discovered something they saw yesterday that people have been using before they were born.

I can agree with your analysis but you didn't mention that Bovada has anonymous tables so players who use HUDs and stats will be disappointed. But nevertheless Bovada is growing very fast.

As for Blackchip and ACR (the main skins of the Winning network) I think they will become the leaders among all US-friendly rooms very soon. They are raising reputation due to the excellent support and fast withdrawals.

But Carbon still has decent traffic and according to the pokerscout graphs it is much higher than WPN.

Carbon is Merge- 10 weeks. PokerHost is Merge-days. Easy game. Exact same games.

thanks for this. have spoken with a few ppl via pm's and think wpn (bcp/acr) is the way to go. for me at least.

carbons pay out thread was kinda scary. players were requesting payments in march and not receiving the checks until this month. this wouldnt necessarily be an issue in the beginning, but the thought of a 3 month wait..

First and foremost, if you are coming into the US poker market with the expectations of playing on Stars or Tilt, you will be disappointed. That type of liquidity does not exist in the US poker market. That said, there are plenty of guys grinding out a living on MTTs in the USA.

Merge has the most robust MTT guarantees of any US sites. For example, Merge's Sunday "Big Ticket" is 150k guaranteed, the highest offerings by it's competitors are Revolution at 100k, Bovada at 100k and Winning Poker Network at 50k.

There are still a couple dozen Merge skins. The most popular among 2+2'ers are Carbon, Aced and PokerHost since they provide rewards to poker players. Other skins that cater more to gamblers include Sportsbook and Players Only.

My opinion for an MTT pro is to play all the US sites, if only to take advantage of the Sunday tournaments.

I'd say that what he means is that you put this in the wrong place. The answers you seek may or may not be in that thread, but even if they're not or if you find it too intimidating to search through the whole thread, you should post your question there, which is where I'll be moving your thread now.

Also, if you haven't checked them out already, you may want to have a look at the Lock and Winning Poker Network forums.

As for your sig, I think you'll find most people here don't use them and many posters find them superfluous and somewhat annoying - every post you make already has your name attached to it, after all. Of course, I post this immediately after Kahn, who seems to be one of the few whose sig has become accepted, or at least ignored, by most.

To be fair, his old signature, Im The Kahnster! In Your Face You Stupid Bitches!, was more similar to the OPs, and also was not very well received if I remember correctly.
