You said you were having success on Bovada? You think everything is straight with their RNG. Seemed a little off last few times i played there.
... Wait what? No and just no.

Interesting... I came across this thread back in November and, despite Merge not being listed on NY's available list, I was able to successfully sign up for Merge's Carbon Poker skin even though I'm a NY resident. I also just successfully cashed out this month. Maybe I caught some window where they allowed NY residents to sign up?

players from Rounders Row have begun to trickle in to PPN now. The sheduled tourney list has been completely re-vamped and is now getting some action with small tourneys. so there finally are signs that it could take off. the sng tables list is supposed to be next to be revamped. Looks like they may finally be getting ready to roll out the long promised game client major upgrade that will have improved graphics and fix the many quirks, playing flaws and hand history. I'm hopeful traffic will pick up and they will bring back some of the dropped promotions so Poker Pros Network may finally be a viable alternative to the big boys. WU withdrawals are fast.

Since the United States is not on their pull-down list for country, I assume that Americans can not play on 888poker. Is that correct?

WPN needs to get rid of The Beast already. New Yorkers have no good options.

Um, right. You might want to read the first post of this thread.

Is sportsbook.com a good site to deposit on? I heard someone from my local cardroom talk about it. Are the cashouts/deposits easy and time efficient?

On sportsbook You can deposit with a Net Spend card. The card will charge 2.33. So if you have 50 on the card, you can deposit 47.67. And it costs like 3 bucks to put money on the card. So it costs 53 for 47.67.
Western union is the other option for deposit.
It takes about 6 weeks to receive a check. 1 free check per month. 2nd check within the month is $40.
Or you can try sportsbooks .com I think they have better promos.

Hey, I have been looking for a place to play. I've have read a ton of posts/replies, and read so many I can't even remember what they all said because people were talking about a few different sites.

I decided on Americas Cardroom... I am in South Carolina.. Whats most important to me is withdrawing at a reasonable length of time. I don't want to be waiting 1-2+ months to get my money after I request a cashout. Also would prefer traffic, but I will play a lot of heads up SNGs so obviously only need 1 player to fill the table.. Is ACR right for me? Any help would be appreciated...

WPN has higher than norm SNG rake and low volume avail.

Hey guys,

I am prepping for a move to South America in about 6mos and haven't played online since BF. I don't want to go down there cold so I am looking for a US facing site that has:

-Good traffic at 50NL
-Good Software
-Trusted payouts (speed not huge issue, trust way more important)
-Good RB/VIP program

I am a data junkie at heart, so a site that is mined easily would help a ton.

So I was ready to sign up w/Lock til I read all these horror stories about ridiculously long cashout periods. Is this true and what's the usual amount of time before you get your check?

What about Bovada? I love how players names are not shown at Bovada. For my style of play that's a real asset. But a 4 table max is a big negative.

Someone in a chat room mentioned a poker site for US players that I haven't heard of (not Merge...I know if them), and he said they send you a paper check between 3-5 days from date of withdrawal. That is AWESOME. Could it be Intertops perhaps? Again I can't recall the name.

Anyway Lock was my 1st choice but I wanted to poll as many people 1st to see what their experience is with payout times.

Thanks

P.S. Mostly a 6max NL grinder.

P.P.S. Update--just contacted Intertops. They are not accepting any new players (from the US) at this time. (

Lock > 2 months for check.

Bovada 1-3 weeks for check.

Intertops 5 business days for check (same network as Lock).

Merge varies by cashier, 1 week(lucky on Merge cashier) to 8 weeks (unlucky on Jazette Cashier).

To answer which is best for you, you'd need to give posters more information about what you play: game(s) and stake(s).

You can begin searching the STICKY thread in this forum.

I'm a little confused, but maybe someone can help explain this to me. How is it even possible to play professionally online these days? It seems like all of the cashout options have small withdrawal limits ($2,500 check withdrawal is the highest I've seen) and long wait times. Merge and lock you'd be lucky to cashout $15k in a year. Sorry if my post comes off as ignorant, I may be missing something.

on the networks which allow player to player transfers you can cash out that way...transfer online poker money to someone (who is respected, legitimate, etc) and they'll transfer money to your bank (or other method) at some vig. revolution and winning networks allow this - bovada and merge do not

I'm sorry, you might not be very intelligent....you might have noticed I made my first post and don't even know what the term OP means and that I'm new on the forum. But maybe you're unable to manage to see that Im new on here... Sorry to see you're incompetent and can't come to a simple level of understanding about new members to a forum. I see you spend a lot of time on here though, makes sense you'd be so frustrated that others cant mold quickly enough to fit your virtual world of reality. Sad soul

While he was a little harsh, it's really not that unusual to expect that a brand new poster might start reading a thread at...the beginning.

OP is a pretty common abbreviation for Original Post or Original Poster, and in this case refers to the first post of the thread. It's probably not a bad idea to at least skim the first post of just about any sticky thread, as sticky threads are usually there for information and often a mod will update the first post.

Also, if you scroll down to the bottom of the links on the left hand side of the screen, you'll find one called "Abbreviations" that you might find helpful.

I must say, for a guy who's brand new to the forum, you sure know how to dish out the insults!
