First off, I'll recap on some of my updates that may have been lost in the last few day's posting.

We had some tourney lobby feed update problems yesterday evening even after removing the 18 player tournaments. We put some optimisations in place this morning so I'm hopeful that it won't happen again today. We have further improvements coming in the client release on the 23rd. For now I'm going to keep the 18 player tournaments down until at least Monday - let's see how much of an improvement these optimisations bring first.

We're going to hold another €3k "xmas" freeroll on Sunday at 18:00. We're going to invite anyone who has an unused ticket to the original freeroll but who didn't take part in it. We'll credit those tickets today and send the mail out this afternoon.

We also have a potential solution to some of the 9-10 table crashing problems. We'll bring that out in two weeks with the release on the 23rd of Jan.

Finally, I'll mass-quote all of the ten thousand posts when I come back from my lunch break today. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then:

Last time we awarded six, the time before two. We're significantly bigger now than then, but we change the prize distributions too. But there've been two awarded so far.

The other good thing with Banzai is that it helps those games run a bit more. They do fine at the moment, but they're still pretty small compared to NL4 for example.

I'm afraid that this kind of post won't work - I go through the thread sequentially, so I won't see later requests to undo previous posts until I get to that request.

We have some internal measures of ecology. They say that at NL25, Oct was tougher than Sep, but Nov and Dec were way, way better. We put something like €20k of mostly lower stake players into that game with Moving On Up in late Nov. It's true that the game is tougher now than it was for the first three days of that promo, but that's to be expected. The game is much better now than it was in Sep or Oct as the money we put in had a more lasting effect.

I think the problem here is twofold. First of all, players get a much more limited sample size than we do, and it's compounded by confirmation bias. We can see the whole picture though, and we can look at it mathematically.

The second part of the problem is more limited but it probably affects a few people every day. There's a metagame in poker, where certain sets of behaviours come in and out of vogue - e.g. three betting too little or too much, making small donk bets, etc. This happens on a large and a small scale. Sometimes that behaviour totally destroys someone's strategy and this makes them think the game has become harder. It hasn't though, it's almost a random fluctuation that happened to exploit a weakness in their play.

I actually don't mind this, but it has a fatal flaw in that people will multi-site, and that will just make it worse as then the 20 tablers come in - it's just that now they're on five different sites.

In an ideal world, our players would only play on our site in a single session, which means we need a cap somewhere around 8-12.

Thank You Andrew I have received tickets but now i started to play and have a problem with sng's.When I am registering to sng and wait for other players and i see in lobby that it should start cause registering are completed but i still see just table which is waiting for another players. I had to restart soft and it looks like that blinds were already on 3rd level. I have registered to another sng and i had to do like before to see my table.

For promo's I'd like to see an even greater emphasis put on UO packages/tickets. I understand that cash/sng tickets are a better way to get liquidity but with the increased player pool I don't see that as a big of an issue as it was even a few months back.

Perhaps a Tourney Series with Leaderboard prizes being a Unibet Open package for 1st with UO tickets being given out to the top 50/100 players.

Some things indeed look odd today.

I late-registered for a tournament, but the table was blank.
The counter of the 'flops seen' on the tables themselves kept saying '0 flops seen'
And the tab for the missions seems to have dissapeared.

The first to problems fixed themselves after I shut down the client for the second time. The mission tab didn't return however.

Sorry, but I don't want to discourage games from running. It'd mean that when it does run, it's to kill a new player off faster, so it'd be bad for us twice.

That depends what you mean really - the Slot this month is tied into it, and Challenges always are. In the past, we made the slot totally UO-centric, but we wanted some variety and to aim at slightly different player segments this time round.

That's something different. If 100 people ask for a refund once each, that's fine. If 1 person asks 100 times, that's not fine.

But it IS their fault that they're playing in a way that will crash the client. Obviously I'd prefer that we didn't have those software problems in the first place, but we're entirely within our rights to stop refunding people who make dozens of requests when they know how to avoid the problems.

Having a lower table cap is definitely something we might do though.

This was one of PokerStars aims too. They wanted to have word of mouth marketing in markets where they couldn't legally advertise. As far as I know it wasn't economical for them though.

You lose it all if you let it expire. You only need to see one flop per week to extend the expiry date though.

I'll see if it's possible to do before we discuss it internally.

Don't know if someone posted on this earlier as on run and don't have time to check, but signed up for an SnG right now and the game started without me knowing about it (though I saw the lobby changing so assumed I had to be seated). Logged off the client and then logged in to find that more than half my chips were blinded out.

Fortunately, I came back to win so no money lost; but, it is a problem that would make me wary to play until fixed. Thought you should know.

^ That's happened to me too but once in 6 months. Don't let it put you off. I see this kind of thing as a kind of "fee" for the other benefits.

Figured as much, now I don't have any more excuse not to hit the gym / park in the mornings before work there.
