hi andrew , im new at the site , posted a couple times already in the thread , asking to change my tickets into cash bonusses ( mtt tickets and cash tickets ) some of them expired already and are gone . i have 0 experience with this .... how often do you change those tickets or respond to messages in here etc .... srry for being so clueless

and the alias you post here , is your username you login with right? not 1 of your names you use to play with on the tables ?

This is a stupid post because the problems that exist now aren't the ones that existed 1.5 years ago.

If for some reason you think I'm less frustrated than you about this, then you should reconsider your position.

There are different things happening here. First, there appears to be a problem with the quick lobby that we think is causing some of the one-table disconnection problems. We're working on that. But it does not cause the client to crash.

Then there are Adobe Air problems. It takes a lot of system resources, so the slower the machine the more likely it is to break. But at some point, regardless of the system, it will break if you have more than 10 tables open for example. These are problems which will take a long time to resolve because it isn't our software that's got the problems, it's somebody else's. We have a long term solution, but we're talking about many months.

The 1500 cap was because the software becomes unstable past that. We weren't expecting that many entrants when we designed the promotion, but we grew a lot between then and when it actually ran.

It's not in the client yet, but we're going to run another €3k freeroll on Sunday. We'll find everyone who had an unused freeroll ticket but didn't actually take part and issue them with a new ticket. The mails will go out tomorrow to inform everyone.

Well, you're attributing a performance limitation to incompetence, which isn't the case.

So, tourney lobbies being blank. The problem here is the tourney feeds. The tourney monitor is sending updates too fast for the server to process at the moment. Relax are working on optimising that process at the moment and it should be done for the weekend.

Meanwhile, we're going to stop the 18 man MTT from running during peak hours. This will reduce the amount of data that is sent out, because there're a lot of these tournaments.

Yup. Though the 1,500 player freeroll isn't actually the cause of the problems. We've run lots of them in the past, and the game server can easily handle the load (it worked fine during the 200 millionth hand for example).

The problem is the server that's sending out the tourney feeds to everyone. There're about twice as many tournaments now as there were during milestones, and there're a lot more daily active players than there were, say, six months ago. These problems are multiplicative, which is what's causing the feed server to fall over.

We definitely need to move away from freerolls as rewards. I don't much like them in the first place because they aren't really freerolls - they take time to play. I don't mind promotions that encourage people to be on at a certain time, but big freerolls take it too far I think.

Well, I want to make it so that people don't lose out because of it, though of course that's unavoidable to some extent now.

This is also a factor that's going to inhibit our longer term success. We need to be able to scale tournaments above 1,500 entrants and we need to be able to show what's in the tournament lobby regardless of how busy it becomes. We should be aiming for PokerStars-like capacity for the tourney feeds.

I guess there's some of that yes. But mostly it's about adding more variety to missions. They were becoming a bit stale and we want to avoid that. Next time round we should make it a bit easier.

Good idea, but I don't have anything to hand except what I've posted in here before really, like how in Nov we reached double our daily revenue that we were making when we launched. All of our top 25 days have been in the last three months, etc. Once I catch up with everything I'll see if I can find something more fun.

It's 2,910 expected hands vs. the total average of 2,508 hands. It awards commensurately more points though.

I think this is the kind of thing that's effectively impossible to calculate in advance because it depends too much on assumptions of how other people play and what ranges you select against them. We do it by looking at the past couple hundred million hands and seeing how often it happens in the wild.

The first Challenges season (Apr-May-Jun '14), I calculated it by myself using a large HEM database, but fortunately one of the server guys at Relax made the searching system instead as we'd dealt a couple of million hands by then.

This is how it was originally, but people preferred the immediacy of shorter Challenges. Now it's ~2,500 average for majors and ~500 for minors. Though of course you're right to point out that this is just an average and if you run good or play loose you'll achieve them faster.

I'm afraid you missed my post here:

BTW, i tried again to register to another €10 UO and it did the same again (happens with @2 UO tickets as well): whenever there is a tournament ticket that has a more recent expiration date, it chooses that ticket in place of the UO ticket. Its really annoying.
I tried via the general menu, and also via the ticket itself, still the same.

Can you please report this bug to have it fixed?
