I'm not a regular in what that term probably means, but I am very annoyed. Those notes helped a lot. Time to complain. As if it will matter.

Here is the response I got from Carbon re: no more notes:

I'm sorry that you feel dissatisfied with this change; we are trying to replicate a live poker room environment where players usually don’t take physical notes, but more mental. This will help even out the playing field and provide a fun, recreational environment.

They are attaching a note to the picture of the player who is sitting at the table.
If you really think about it most live games people are just calling bets, does that mean you are thinking about removing the ability to bet whatever amount we want?
Cmon guys i understand your thinking on trying to keep it fair, but your going overboard. Try looking at adding more 9 handed tables adding more turbos etc etc especially in SNG's and limit holdem

Software is downloading a new update and says its restarting but never does. I click on Carbon again and it just starts the process over again. Guess my only option is to uninstall/reinstall? Anyone else having same issue? Anyone currently on and playing just fine?

Most of those players will have moved on anyways as Merge is rather a ghost town, so it really doesn't make much of a difference if the notes are gone.

y....about that long for me too on the notes. I think this is it for me on Carbon. I stayed with them thru all the other stuff that they took away from us, along with the withdrawals that took 3 and 4 months because this is really just a hobby to me. The notes go along with that as an important part of the online poker "experience" that has now been devalued to the point where it's not enjoyable to play on Carbon anymore.

They're one step closer now to the anonymous tables on Bovada...might as well make the move other there to their crappy software.

Looks like they also took the "stand up" button away and replaced it with "leave" when you sit out from the table momentarily, likely to make it harder to seat hop.

The 8 others at a table with me aren't ghosts. Some are very familiar, so my notes aren't so necessary. Some are new and some are returning folks as evidenced by little to no rated play on Carbon during 2014/15. So it does make a difference to me. But, I'll adapt.

You will agree though that the overall traffic definitely isn't what it used to be and many old regs have moved on? The notes may still come in handy to a certain degree, but a HUD might be more efficient.

I will agree traffic has decreased significantly and many old regs have moved on. That said, between the new folks and returning regs, my notes and ability to make new notes are sorely missed. The Carbon odds calculator will have to suffice for me.
