A friend of mine signed up for an account on Carbon this week and has had 2 problems. Wanted to see if anyone else has experienced either of these and if you know a fix.

1. He put in what he wanted as screen name but it was already taken. He said it then auto suggested another name which he had to accept. Obviously without seeing it he may have done something wrong. In any case, is it possible for him to switch SN's...guessing no but thought I'd ask.

2. He said he was playing a cash game went all in and won with a flush but the Carbon window went black. When it came back he was busted. I've never heard of this glitch but I don't play cash games on Carbon. Anyone hear of something like this? He contacted support but hasn't heard back yet...which I told him was to be expected.

Thanks all...his first day or 2 with Carbon hasn't given him the best first impression. Any help or suggestions is appreciated.

1) SN can not be changed.

2) Whether your computer crashes matters not. The game servers (at all poker sites) divide up the pot and the money, not the customer's local poker client. His crash could not have affected the outcome of the hand if all his money was already in with no possible other actions left in the hand for him.

Hey, I don't want to spam, but he plays under me and skyped me to help him. He was the first person I took care of and it worked well. I'd recommend talking to the affiliate you signed up with if you have this problem.

Thanks Kahn,
So are all the Jazette skins allowing all their players to play in all the other available games alongside the Merge player pool--cash games (minus draw/stud), SNG's and all MTT's?

Lastly, is it fairly accurate to say that the 3 biggest poker skins on Jazette are Sportsbook.com, PlayersOnly, and SuperBook?

Thanks Kahn...I was figuring that with the SN. Still need him to clarify exactly what happened with the client blacking out...something in his story doesn't add up but since he's new I think he's having trouble explaining it. In any case, thanks again.

Yes on the game sharing questions.

I believe you've also correctly identified the top3 Jazette skins.

I presume the same.

the 4 table restriction is brutal. so often i'm sitting here, 4 games running, checking the lobby... and there will be 3 or 4 games with just 1 player sitting there waiting.

often it's another reg, and some regs don't like to play other regs heads up even if it will spark a new table... i'm not one of those people, i'd rather see the game get going. it's such a helpless feeling. (and bored feeling, even beginners can rock out 4 tables.) plus often times in the past 6 months, when i'd start a session, there would be two $100NL games and two $200NL games running. within an hour, with me starting table after table, we'd have 7 or 8 of each going strong. i'd like to know how that's bad for business -?-

i would love to know the business logic behind the restriction. i could see 8, or even 12. i understand not wanting someone to play 30 tables. 4 is just ridiculous though, and this isn't even taking into consideration that different players have different limits.

also i'm not on any VIP level/program, BUT, it would REALLY suck to have VIP status but then have it removed. ugh.

how do you color code players? I see "playerbox color" when I go to player details, but no way to change it.

They took away color coding because it wasn't, "player friendly".

Ability to color code was removed last month from Carbon/Aced. Some other skins reportedly still can color code.

You have 90 days.

It clears at ~7%. So you'd need to rake approximately 15x the bonus amount, or somewhere around $5250 give or take a few dollars.

Regarding the 4 table restriction-- Just speculation, but having seen other 'real life' businesses make the same error I wonder if what's going on is something like this: Merge sees that Bovada is doing very well while only letting players sit at 4 tables, so someone at Merge suggests they start doing the same thing, particularly to the winning players, and somehow magically their numbers will start to look more like Bovada's. It's not uncommon for some out-of-touch exec to copy a policy from one of his competitors without understanding the underlying basis for the policy, and then hoping for magic to happen.

I don't know what's going on but according to PokerScout Merge's traffic for the last 4 days is less than half what it was for the prior 9 days.

^you're over-thinking it. IMO it's pretty simple:

Merge combined two pool of players. to generalize each pool: one is players who lose money playing poker, the other is players who win money playing poker.

as a business Merge wants two things regarding the "losing" pool of players. 1-lose their money money playing poker as slowly as possible so 2-they can lose their money betting sports and playing casino games.

when losing players lose playing poker where does the money go? to winning players->Cashout->ATM->titties. never back on the site.

"how can we make sure these winning players, who we are about to give a whole bunch of fish to, don't take all the fishes' money before they lose it to us?"

table cap.

EDIT: that's for cash games. probably the same logic was applied to MTTs but that makes no sense to me.

My VIP system is not shown under "player admin" and cannot exchange VIP points to cash.

Is anyone having the same problem?

Yes, sounds like they took your VIP status away also. Can you play more than 4 tables?

Some players are getting table capped. Some are getting VIP removed. Some are getting both. Drawnone, a few posts up, has a pretty good understanding of why (at least, his opinion and mine coincide a great deal).

So much fun waiting every day to see if you'll lose VIP, get table capped, or both ...

For those of you using tracking software, which one works better for tournament results on carbon? I know HEM used to not track the tournaments properly.

Thanks
