what tourneys you guys use your points on? Just started Bovada, so not sure if I should play a $30 tourney once every 1-2 weeks, or try and bink a $100k guaranteed ever 1.5 months.

Is it possible on Bovada to get tourneys that have more guaranteed, than actual player contributions?

It depends on your bankroll and how much you want to shot take. I personally find MTTs to be too swingy to spend all my points on one ticket, so I opt for multiple smaller $5-10 buyin tickets.

BR is pretty sketchy atm. Started back in poker 2 weeks ago with $300. Currently getting close to nl50 BR with 25k hands in 2 weeks. Just based on past history on stars, I think I should be able to grind 40k hands a month at nl100-nl200 fairly soon, so no idea what kind of points you get doing that.

So my team NFC East made it through to the second round of the playoffs for the super bowl promotion, when do you get tournament tickets for the $5k team freeroll?

Yeah, generally as a rule of thumb, anyone you see with that many buyins on any table has been just being a complete spewtard and running hot. Its pretty hard to build up a twenty buyin stack playing solid poker. Flipping and running like god on the other hand it can happen much easier.

More power to him regardless. I hope he wins one million dollars!

any cash game regs post here? if so, do any of you suspect collusion? i know its been discussed before, but id like to hear from anybody who has witnessed it first hand or is highly suspicious of it.

obviously with anon tables it would be extremely easy to collude and go undetected for quite some time, if not indefinitely. to those who think that it would be easy to detect colluders just by reviewing hand histories, you are sorely mistaken. sure, a poor colluder with next to no knowledge of the game would be quite easy to detect, but for any competent player it seems that abusing a system like bovada has set up would be simple.

the only reason i ask is that i downloaded bovada last night to rail the hero, stickyrice1. of course anybody with any clue how to play the game knows that he is quite a poor player and shouldnt be playing 10/20, and probably not even 1/2. that being said, the other players he was battling against appeared to be very weak as well. i saw at least 20-30 fundamentalliy flawed plays by his opponents, with some of them being borderline suspect with how ridiculous they were. im sure there are plenty of people who want to take a shot at these games given how soft they seem...

can anybody with experience playing mid to high stakes cash on there comment on the level of play and chance of mass collusion taking place? any input on the state of tournament play and really the overall current environment of the site would be appreciated as well.

Chance of mass collusion is near zero. 20bi days happen. Chance of your gauge of everyones play being accurate is near zero.

Sometimes games are good, sometimes people run good. That's that.

I play cash on Bovada, not 10/20, but I understand collusion and online poker quite well considering I've been a pro since 2008 (with a brief pause during black friday). Collusion while possible, isn't something that would result in him winning that much, and the way people collude in online poker is different than whatever you think it is.

He never said the chance of collusion is near zero. He said the chance of mass collusion here is near zero. There is a big difference in those statements fwiw.

I play cash games here among other places. I dont feel overly threatened by collusion at Bovada vs other sites. Thats not to say it doesnt exist, it obviously does. And you are right that it becomes much harder to detect in Bovadas format. Its just not something that is worth worrying too much about as the effect would be minimal in the long run. If you feel something is off then review your hand histories, if evidence exists report the players. Other than that just play. You are fine. If just the idea of the possibility of collusion being higher on Bovada is bothering you too much there are other sites to play.

Good luck.

Wow team NFC South really faded in the Bovada NFL promotion. We couldn't even win a first round playoff matchup.

Shame grinders, shame.

Thanks... I just realized that I did too.

Does anybody know if we can still earn the players bonus this week even if our division has been eliminated from the playoffs?

as an NFC South juggernaut and someone who scored 10+ touchdowns in our 1 (and only) playoff game, i would just like to give a big thanks to all the scum freerolling micro donk tag alongs who joined the nfc south as freeloaders with no intention to grind. thanks for watering down the division and losing this for us.

My advice is to just always keep it in the back of your mind when your playing 400NL+, If you feel like something isn't right then just leave the table

I know for a fact that pre-black Friday that some people played in the 400NL, 600NL, and 1000NL games while talking on skype. I'm not sure if they were colluding (in fact they probably were not), but still I don't like playing in a 6 handed game where 3 of them are on skype together and clearly friendly with each other.

Also, I would be careful about coming to a conclusion on the softness of the high stakes games based on one night, on a weekend, where a massive fish was at the table. (massive fish can sometimes put a normally solid reg on tilt if they are on the bad end of the luck). I would definitely NOT categorize the high stakes games as "soft". But hey maybe your way better then me.
