So can someone please chime in with a quick review of this website. I have heard some terrible things about Bovada but really don't have any better options that I know of, as I obviously live in the US. Also pretty disappointed that they have no 0.1/0.2 cent cash games as I need to get back in the swing of things. Ive been playing play money games and the hands are just laughable set ups I played for maybe an hour and must've had about 5 PP and multiple straights... Idk :/ I know many people may be sick of hearing this but as someone about to deposit $50 I would like a little feedback. Thanks!

Fast payouts, reliable client(on windows, not mac), good player pool, fishy games due to sports betters and anonymous play.

If you want to use a HUD and recognize people, I would go with carbon. If you don't need a HUD, or just want to use it for current table sessions, I would suggest Bovada.

Overall I think Bovada is great considering the poor state of U.S. poker. The promos are great as well.

If you can afford it, I would deposit like $100+ so you can clear that bonus and get an additional $100 in play. Your initial deposit gets a bonus to be cleared, so the more you deposit the more you can clear. I regret not depositing $100+ on my first time because I ended up depositing more money and not getting the bonus on it.

.02/.05 is the minimum cash tables but it doesn't make a big difference in terms of skill level. Because it is the minimum on Bovada it is equivalent to .01/.02 on other sites. The play is very bad. As long as you don't tilt or run horribly bad you should be fine. People shove with stuff like A7o all the time in the micros.

BTW, if you refer someone you get up to $100 based upon their initial deposit. If you want, I can refer you but if not, no worries . PM me if you want. If you have a friend you know that plays, you can use their referral and give them up to $100 based upon your deposit.

In all honesty does it really matter where you play if your playing for pennies?

Yeah, because the promotions make a difference. Carbons promos suck if you deposit $50, Bovada's is great since your going to get double your deposit to play with, and a free sport bet or 50% bonus sport bet.

Lol some reason the name Ellix Powers reminded me of the Pants on the Ground guy. Not sure why maybe because they both black, homeless, and are one hit wonders.

Pretty similar... Google WSOP ellix powers playing for pennies in the streets.

He was also famous for getting called by Jack high!

Exactly the reason why limit poker tournaments are not popular. Can't get idiots to fold so you have to get hands.

Sorry if I missed something already said earlier in the thread, but is the Bovada client running super slow and laggy all of a sudden or is it just my computer?

Are you on mac or windows?

The mac client is horrible and laggy.

Mine worked too for a week then started lagging horribly and stalling everything on my computer. Freezing up for minutes at a time. Switched to windows 7 on boot camp and never looked back.

^ I just realized that my client hasn't crashed since the latest maintenance they shut the site down for. Haven't really put in volume in the last few days, but so far so good.

So if you don't play it doesn't crash? You solved it!

Just from watching the lobby the last 5 minutes, I've seen 7 full tables. So at least that many. Of course, this is primetime right now.

LOL!

I didn't put in any long sessions, but I played a few tournaments and cash for a short time (like an hour or two).

Been playing for like 2 hours now, but am only 1-2 tabling, and no crashes. I'm not saying it's fixed for sure, just that either it's gotten better or I've gotten lucky.

If you are already thinking that the play money games are rigged then Im afraid you might not find Bovada or any poker site or game acceptable tbh.
