How's Zone Poker? I would rather get some feedback before I deposit.

I love Zone poker but...

You are only allowed one entry per pool right now.

Only NL5, NL25, and NL50 run regularly.

It isn't nearly as fast as Full Tilt's Rush poker but it is the only US fast fold poker right now so it is the best by default.

Did they say this will change? I thought I saw 50+ players on 25nl but only 1 on 50NL. Does 50NL really run regularly? How many players?

You can't keep notes on players, so every new hand is completely random with no reads. I hate it.

I expected that to be the case.

They don't have any reads either. You can 3 bet ALOT and get away with it.

There isn't any rakeback either, correct? Is there any type of rewards program?

You realize Bovada would go months without any real cash promos, in the past?

I get wanting free money, but it's not like they have a rep in here promising anyone, anything.

Yes, I realize that.

I also realize that it has been like 6 months since there was any gap in between promos.

For those freaking out about no new promo yet(i'm hoping too), just look at the calendar. If there is gonna be one it just makes sense it wouldn't start until this coming monday thru Dec 2. Not just time wise but also because the WPT and GSPO will be over Nov. 3rd.

Doesn't mean there will be one, but I wouldn't worry just yet.

The games in zone are plenty good... but i think there is higher variance due to the lack of reads. At least, with the way i play. For example, I make lots of river hero calls, and i think it's +ev but i'm wrong almost as much as i'm right, and have no way to distinguish between the players i should call and the players i should not.

Yeah, i also record my gas mileage every time i fill up the tank. This way, even though my gas gauge is broken, i can always figure out how much farther i can go.

I thought so at first, but somehow, i'm doing it wrong. I get 4-bet or called down way too much... I must be giving off some weak anony-tells.

What people have to keep in mind is that Zone is still new and wasn't beta tested at all. In other words, this is the beta test. The site has a history of adding things based on what players have shown they will play and not what is requested by regs on a forum. That's not to say they won't allow multiple zone tables, I'm sure they will, but they are going to make sure that there's enough need for it so it won't kill the games.

Remember all the people who waited all of 2 hours after they released Zone to start whining about higher levels? Well, where are they now? 50nl doesn't run all the time and 100nl rarely runs. If they don't run consistently they'll never add higher levels.

Do you guys know how I can uninstall Bovada (I'm taking a self-imposed month long hiatus to concentrate on senior year of college), but save hand histories first, to input into either Poker Tracker or Hold'em Manager when I come back to the site in December? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I'm not the most technologically savvy person.

Goto the Bovada folder in the C: drive and make a copy of the HH folder (assuming you've been downloading them).

Thank you for the response! I haven't downloaded anything. How can I?

Ah, you're out of luck then. They are only available for the past 7 days, you have to go into "account" and then "game transactions" in the client and hit download. You then need to buy a converter program from Ace Poker Solutions in order to get them to import into HM and PT (I know it's a lot of BS to do).

Hey guys. I started playing Zone tonight and I really like it. The one thing that bothers me about playing on Bovada is the lack of rakeback. I did find out that every month there are cash bonus promotions for the points. It sounds like the bonuses are just as good as most site's rakeback if not better. Is that right?

Well there aren't promotions every month. There have been weekly promos for the last few months, but before that there were several months in a row with nothing. The bonuses aren't all that great either, the most I've seen was $50/week. Once you get to realize what Bovada wants in their players you'll get a better idea of how things work and why they do what they do.

Oh, I thought it was every month and up to $120 per week.
