I just received this email from customer service...

We have important news we want to share with you. Bovada Poker has been acquired by Ignition Casino. This means you’ll be required to transfer your account by September 30, 2016. After this date, poker at Bovada will no longer be available. You’ll still have access to Bovada’s sportsbook, casino and racebook products.
Ignition Casino uses the same platform as Bovada, so the features you enjoy such as anonymous tables, Zone poker, mobile poker and guaranteed tournaments, like the weekly $100K, will be there waiting for you. Both sites will also operate simultaneously with shared player pools until the transition is complete. Any Poker Points that you have accrued on Bovada will need to be used before September 30 as they will not carry over to Ignition Casino.
We’ll do everything we can to make this transition as easy as possible. Please be sure to visit our FAQ page where you’ll find information on account transfers, how to score your generous migration bonus, what to do with your Poker Points and any other questions you may have.

Go to Our Migration FAQ Page

We're confident in Ignition Casino's ability to provide you with the same level of service and security you're used to at Bovada. To find out more, check out their website

It's always super weird to me when a well known name is somehow bought out by a competitor no one's ever heard of.

Just based off of google searches they were mainly a online casino company. I wonder how this will effect payouts as they're bitcoin withdrawals lately have been lightning fast.

Never heard of Ignition Casino - did they have a track record of any kind in the industry?
Possible that this is just a Bovada corporate shell game to put poker in a separate bucket (still controlled by same corporate parent) in order to maintain an illusory 'arm's length' relationship in case they want to play the poker's-not-gambling angle in the future?

Pretty sure it's just a shell company. Mobile websites look very very similar and I think both ignition and bodog are licensed with kahnewake.

The Ignition casino website looks exactly like Bovada's...

The fact that player pools will be shared until September 30th

It's almost like Bovada is just rebranding their poker room.

hmm looks like it actually is the same company

http://www.legitgamblingsites.com/on...inos/ignition/

and the sites do look very similar.

This is still going to have a big impact if the bovada sports bettors cant easily fire up poker and many wont bother to transfer accounts.

I know i'm annoyed i wont be able to make sportsbets on bovada from my new ignition account; assuming i dont just cash out and play on ACR exclusively (which i don't want to do)

Was just about to post this, don't see the issue. Poker isn't profitable for them anyways.

Sad day for US poker. The new site doesn't even have a sports book. Ready for tougher games everyone?

anyone know anything about ignition casino? it was established in 2016 and their website uses the same font/design style as Bovada's so it kind of looks like Bovada just created a new business to handle its poker offerings...

Surely you don't mean literally unprofitable as collecting rake with automatic software must have some worthiness. But maybe they've found they get less money when sports book fun players take their winnings and give it to better players rather than bet on more sports.

How should I feel about this new Ignition Casino. Just pull my roll out now and go to another site? I mean I've been so irritated with bovada lately but at the same time I enjoyed playing there.

So looks like Bovada is giving up on poker offerings, however they are transferring it to Ignition which will be separate from what other games Bovada offers.
