Because they're now anonymous. Party has (had?) some anonymous tables too, though I'm not sure how that experiment is going.

Does anyone know why Bodog.ca suddenly redirects to Bodog.eu today? Looked for a press release but couldn't find anything. Thanks.

Did we travel back in time or something?

And if anyone knows exactly what the deal is with bodog88 please post.
Yes, but no one I've contacted seems to be able to tell me exactly what countries Bodog88 accepts

Yes it redirects to "it's new international URL"

There was an affiliate communique sent out about this today.

I'm just coming back to the site since it was Bodog. Haven't been in the online poker world last 2 years or so. Just found it odd why there was no handles anymore just seat numbers. Seems weird to me, but guess whatever they need to do to keep it up and running legally. Just thought someone would have more insight on why their doing that.

This has been covered to the point of ridiculousness. Search the thread.

Has nothing to do with legality and everything to do with protecting the fish from sharks. Bodog/Bovada don't ater to pros. They protect their fishy sportsbook and casino players much to the chagrin of 2+2'ers

Entropay works just fine although there is a small fee after the first deposit.

FYP. Although your post was basically on track I believe the words you chose unintentionally made it seem like they in some way made these changes for the benefit of their players, which is absurd.

Bad players still lose their money the same, the site just gets more of it if their changes work the way they intended them to work.

This isnt something new, poker sites often make minor changes to the game to help their bottom line. Its understandable to a point. However, none I remember have been as blatant and greedy as Bovada. Every decision theyve made over the last couple years has been specifically designed to increase Rake with pretty much zero concern for their player base.

IMHO at least.

Bodog isn't a poker site. It is a sportsbook and casino that begrudgingly offers poker. Yes, the changes are made to help their bottom line. Like any business...

"Protecting their recreational players from sharks" is what Mr Ayre says. Obviously it's to keep money in circulation longer in order to increase profits. Thinking anything otherwise would be silly.

So why do they continue to ignore issues (disconnects, timebank abuse, reload probs, etc) which affect all players equally and ultimately lead to less people playing and therefore less rake and less money in their pocket?

Also prob better posting in the Bodog Network thread for network wide questions like Bodog88. However I can confirm Aussies can play on Bodog88, but not sure what other countries exactly.

The two are not mutually exclusive. Thinking otherwise would be silly.

If you look at the way they implement things, I'd guess that it's a lack of programming talent. There's just so many things they do that an entry level programmer would scoff at that it's just silly.

as far as the disconnects, I don't think this is happening for everyone but I understand why you're ticked.

over the course of about 16 months playing on here, I suffered disconnect problems twice. I traced both problems to new promotion releases on the poker client. That was right after Bodog changed to Bovada. I haven't had a disconnect in over a year and i play basically every day. At least from my experience, the connection on here has been really solid.

I'm an MTT player and I remember back in the day a couple of times on Full Tilt I had a bad disconnect in the middle of a tourney. This also happened to me twice on Lock after black friday. I'm not saying it can't happen on Bovada, but I will say that I've never had a bad problem on here with disconnects that actually cost me some major chips so have to say I'm satisfied.

Yeah I never disconnect and my laptop is super old. time warner offered me a business 'upgrade' to my internet speed but that is not necc since i never disconnect.

I remember 5 months ago or so I disconnected and was able to log out and in really quick and resume within 30 sec..

You guys who disconnect should call your internet provider cause something is VERY wrong with your computer or your internet service. you should never disconnect.

I use the Visa Netspend card from walmart. When you buy it you get a generic card and load money onto it. Bovada will decline this. Register the card online and Visa will send you one with your name on it. This has worked for me.

If you dont play cash you probably wouldnt realise why it is so aggravating.

If you disconnect for even one hand, not only do you get booted from the table, but you also can't sit back down for 5 minutes, and when you do you can only buyin in for a max of 100bbs. This is extremely frustrating when you may have spent hours getting reads, building a stack, have position on someone, etc.

Cant speak for anyone else, but this happens pretty often for me.

I disconnected on only one of two tables I was on while sitting 7BIs deep at $50 PLO. It then said I couldn't sit back in for 5 mins at the table. Killed my momentum.

You wont be able to withdraw if you're still within the bonus period, unless you want to forfeit all the bonus earned.. If you withdraw now, you won't be eligible for the rest of the bonus either.
