I've received about a half dozen withdrawal checks over the past year, or so.

Some are from Singapore, some are from Canada.

The Singapore ones I can deposit by phone, or ATM and immediately get deposited into my checking account. No foreign check fee or hold.

The Canada ones, I CAN'T deposit by phone or ATM..have to walk into bank teller and they are subject to a foreign check fee and a 30 day hold.

Super tilting that the Chinese checks go through easily and the Canadian ones don't..has anyone ever heard of NAFTA for ****s sake?

Has anyone experienced similar? Would it be prudent for me to call Bovada customer service and request my withdrawals come from Singapore and not Canada? Or would that be a bad idea?

Thanks for any suggestions..
My bank accepts them through ATM and the tellers are the ones that flag/delay them. One time, I had them tell me that the company that issued the checks changed their account but still kept the same name or something which caused confusion. They tried to contact the company to verify, but couldn't. 2 months later, I get a call saying it's cleared. They wanted to hold the check, I told make a copy and keep the copy. You just gotta deal w/ the bank protocol. Usually it's ok, when it's not... be patient and polite.

He lost 3 hands, I think. I actually tried to go through them and did. Too bad they were in hieroglyphics, I couldn't make it out. Damn bots are running the site.

Tried to look at a hand history and client crashed. Loaded up 4 more tables, stupidly tried to check another hand history and it crashed again. Really tilting, guess I learned my lesson to not check HH while playing.

Hey folks,

I haven't played online poker in a long time and would like to give it a shot again. I decided to go with Bovada but I can't make up my mind on how to deposit money. I really wanted to avoid using my personal Visa card at first but I am not sure what else to do. My first idea was to buy a gift card at Walmart and use it online. It seems like that is not possible because you can only use these cards for purchases within the US. My next idea was to use Netspend but I would have to provide personal information including my SSN. Don't really wanna do that.
It seems like I can not send money anonymously so I figured I might as well use my credit card.
I am just trying not to get in trouble so what do you think is the best idea? Should I be safe using my own credit card as long as the transaction is accepted?

Yea bro. What are you worried about? Feds won't come after you for depositing online I promise.

I guess I am trying to leave as little of a trail as possible but it seems like if I want to play, I will have to make a deposit that is tied to my name since it goes out of the country.

Forgive my ignorance but is Merge able to process Bitcoin withdrawals in a reasonable amount of time or is it similar to requesting a check?

Yes that is how it works for bovada. The other poster was talking about merge and I feel that they consistently do not offer bitcoin (me and many others can only request checks) and still you must provide your info. wpn i think has bitcoin more broadly used across the player base. seals with clubs is bitcoin only and you only have to give an email address. The traffic is very low, you will likely prefer bovada esp if you are just getting back into thinkgs.

you will not get in to trouble and you will definitely have to give your name to cash out on bovada. One state that you would not want to make a deposit from is WASHINGTON state. Not DC, the one in the left corner... haha

it's a felony to play online poker in that state but you are from south carolina so you are good to go... good luck

Buy a prepaid Visa. Just make sure it's usable for international purchases.

I think there is a reloadable visa that allows foreign transactions that doesn't require your SSN like Netspend does.

I always used netspend but I understand why you would not want to give your SSN.

Read the merge thread before you make a merge decision.
In my opinion merge is not a solution.

It's more than just a solution for him if that site would get its **** together. Really wish WPN would just hurry up and buy Merge so they could take Merge's software and fix their **** site.

That would be a solution for EVERYONE. After all, Merge does have the best software in online poker.
