I missed the thread about the Microgaming Investigation. The other two links were literally either "Botting exists. Here's what we can do to help stop it" or "Hi I'm a random dude and I'm worried about bots because some guys have their preset bet sizing to 71.25%"

Ok so botting has existed. Still skeptical about it on Bovada. And there is reason behind this skepticism too, I'm not just some guy who forms an opinion based on nothing. I've just seen so much damn paranoia over the subject, so many players chatting accusing people of being bots only to have the player chat right back at them. I've been accused of being a bot tons of times and it's all really silly to me.

Also for petes sake, how could there be these crazy, killer, black-market multi-player poker programs whereas game theory experts have yet to construct a perfect headsup program (which is supposed to be much simpler)?

If there are bots on Bovada, they must be really bad. I have been crushing Bovada for 6 months now.

Any chance we could all dial down the hate a little?

I'll be deleting a few posts now.

If you're wondering why you're getting so much derision, it's because you started with this ridiculous post, which you have since admitted was (at least somewhat) erroneous. I'd suggest a little more reading about bots before making any more statements about whether they are or aren't on Bodog. I don't think anyone is claiming that there are "crazy, killer, black-market multi-player poker programs" out there, just that there are bots on most sites at any given time. Some sites are better at detecting them than others. Some bots are better than others, and while it's likely none of them are beating the very best players, there have certainly been, and will continue to be, winning bots.

I'm not for a moment suggesting that I know there are winning bots (or any bots) on Bodog right now, and I'd say worried's post about hit-and-runners being bots was extremely speculative at best, silly at worst. But that also doesn't mean we should assume there aren't, and couldn't be, bots there.

It's impossible to prove so all I can go off of is actions, and timing, but if I could take a bet at even money that there are bots on bodog, and there was a way to prove it, id bet on it.
But posting itt about it is a waste of time obv.
Carry on world beaters.

Alright fair enough. I suppose I did speak with a certainty on something that I wasn't really certain of. But from all that I had read and experienced lead me to believe that was the case.

The ignorance and tone of many of the posts lately makes me not even want to post myself despite the fact that many of the things being argued about like the disconnection issues are easily answered and things that weve come to conclusions on the better part of a decade ago.

Fwiw, the disconnect issues have been around for years. Some have problems others dont. It doesnt matter what rig you have or the quality of your connection. Neither Bovada (as far as we know) or the player base has ever been able to pinpoint why some have so many issues while others dont. Ive been playing this site for years. I play six hours a day when Im in grinding mode. I never disconnect (other than occasions where the entire site went down). I never lag. I never have any issues period. Others cant play a session without an issue. Thats the way its always been on Bodog. And yes MAC users are prone to more issues fwiw.

As far as bots, it would be safe to assume there are bots on Bovada. It would also be just as safe however to assume that the vast majority of posters that have been crying about them lately seem completely clueless in identifying them.

What I've Learned From This Thread:

1) It is impossible to get money onto Bovada.
2) The client crashes every 5 minutes especially if you: a) have the nuts in a big pot, or b) are about to final table a MTT.
3) Bovada rigs their Random Number Generator to screw everyone... except the bots.
4) 12 year olds have the same posting privileges as an online Pro.

Regarding bots. From the research I've seen they aren't really that good. The sites selling them make some pretty bold claims but a solid, educated player should be beating them handily. There's probably more money in selling the bots than in actually using them; kind of like Real Estate classes. Bots do not equal Tom Dwan type of players.

This is the problem. Tropics denies server issues and now with his infinite microstakes wisdom he denies the existence of big winning bots 5 post after there's been proof of millions of $ won by bots.

yeah man it sucks, just gotta deal with it really. Its especially frustrating because I run Iholdemindicator and it purges all the stacks upon restart

I don't think my client crashes as frequent as your though, maybe once every 3-4 hours, (sometimes even days)

I have a PC. I think my disconnect issues are probably my internet provider, which I will probably change in the near future.

Your research couldn't have been that thorough then. For the past 5 years there have been bots capable of beating games up to 1kNL for a significant winrate.

Here is a post from almost 4 years ago:
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/56...ngame-1112918/

These bots aren't on google and sold for pennies. These guys keep to themselves and do everything they can to improve their bots and make it extremely difficult to detect.

On the crashing, I've posted this before but things get lost and forgotten rather quickly here. I have one pc running windows 7 and Bovada runs like a champ and never disconnects. I have a laptop running windows 8 and bovada crashes constantly (at least once per hour). Both are on same network and isp. Because of this I always play on my windows 7 computer. What operating system are you guys using who are experiencing disconnects?

As far as bots go, I have firsthand experience. I know people who have used bots in the past, on bovada and other sites. These people payed top dollar for their botting programs and profiles. Different profiles have different playing styles. None of them are elite and over 100 games they only showed a slight profit, not even what the guy put into buying them and setting them up. So are there bots on bovada? yes. Should you be worried about them? no. They play solid ABC poker, but don't understand advanced tournament situations and are easily exploitable.

Finally, the best way to detect them is to see how long it takes them to act. Most bots will take the exact same time to act on every decision. If you see a player that always acts when the timer hits a certain number, and that player won't respond in chat, it is probably a bot and you should report them.

Again this is an uneducated response from 2007.

You are talking about bots sold on a public website that are built by programmer who does not hand strenghts. Even the most expensive profiles are a scam.

Most bots will take the same time to act? Again, you are posting "facts" that are not true. All real bots are programmed to randomly change their timing. That's barely half a line of code.

Please, everyone. Keep your opinions to yourselves. Opinions are not facts.

Ummm.... I haven't played micro stakes in years. But you see, that your problem; you clearly do have some intelligence and some important points (not right on everything mind you), but you "talk" to people like such a worthless little punt that I'm done with you and I hope the rest of the forum is too. Come back when you've learned some humility and the art of the "discussion." You just keep trying to win. A forum isn't about winning, it's about finding solutions and exchanging ideas. I'll go back to my "micros" now if I can remember where to find them.

Tropics are you a Politician? You do sound like one. Every sentence you say is completely empty and based on trying to look good.

Im not having a discussion im stating fact to someone trying to pass his terrible opinions as fact. There's no solution or exchange of ideas, there's known fact and then there's you trying to sound interesting.

Please refrain from posting.

I don't even want to post, but there's been a lot of misinformation posted recently.
