Tried over-the counter of my OBA ("murica").... no bueno

Signed it over to a buddy of mine 7 days after (Third party) .... to his CHazz bank ... rhymes with WASTE .... Cleared the next day!!

Why no bueno? What did they say?

They said it might take to 3-8 weeks (OBA-"Murica)... did not wanna wait that long.... Or it might even go to collections , then it "might " clear.

Had a buddy in Chazz (Waste-rhymes) that works there , so I deposited it to a friend who has an account in that bank.

Opening a Chazz acct. myself.

Online bank like Cap1 or Orange accts does'nt take foreign checks thru their Phone app check-app, FYI.

Hey guys new to site. I have requested pay out via check. Bovada is having me send card, ID, info etc.

I guess my question is what is this collections people talk about? I assume it is something the bank does to verify but this process takes awhile?

Sticking with the theme it looks like I may have to switch to the bank that rhymes with "waste". I am currently with a big bank with 3 letters and I guess the color is orange. If I was going with "waste" as a new customer would I have any issues and is it a fast process?

You are not required to have a bank send a check to collections. You can talk them into not processing it that way, or have them give you your check back.

Typically regular checks take a month before it actually clears. Your bank usually clears you the next day. Because these checks are international they like to send them out to collections to make sure it clears before they pay out.

I don't think you should change your bank unless its a small rural bank. But if you have a big name bank whether or not your bank sends the check to collections is depending on a couple factors like the relationship you have with your bank or what kind of teller you might run into that day.

i have the three letter red white blue bank and sent them over 6 checks. 4 of them were available the next day the other 2 were sent to collections.

I've won a few bucks the past couple days and plan on doing my first cash out. What kind of forms are they going to ask for to verify who i am? Hopefully a picture id and utility bill is enough..i do not use credit cards of any kind. I deposited via rapid transfer and want to wd the same way if that matters.

Yeah I think I will call my bank tomorrow and see what the process is. I have read on here people waiting 6-8 weeks which seems crazy. So hopefully it is not a long process. I will update down the road.

They may or may not ask for ID but if they do then a government issued photo ID and a utility bill proving residency should make you pretty good to go in your case on Bovada or any site.

My bigger concern will be how it takes to clear.

Has anyone had a check not ever clear? Ive done many checks that clear within a couple days and my last two have had 6 week holds. I'ts getting near the 6 week period and still nothing so starting to get worried. Appreciate the feedback

Did you receive the second message immediately (the one that says the processor has sent out your wire and tells you the exact amount that it should be) and then it took 2 weeks for the wire to hit your account? Or did both take 2 weeks?

First check went to collections took like 3 weeks and they took out a fee. 2nd check I wasn't home and unable to deposit for about a month. Deposit in my bank it gets sent to collections. If it were to bounce how would I find out?

Both took 2 weeks. When I get the second message i always (so far) get the money within 2-3days.

Was this a recent request? Had you had a wire recently sent out before that? (they will only send out one every 7 days)

I'm sure people come across a nosey teller every so often...but i think the majority of problems come from people who mention poker/gambling or who freeze up and act sketchy when they've been asked some routine questions that can usually be answered quite easily without mentioning poker or acting like a criminal.

i HIGHLY suggest opening a new checking account at one of the bigger national banks....a popular choice is the big bank that rhymes with ace. i should mention some people have reported that attempting to deposit a check into a brand new account(especially with minimal acct balance) and no real activity, can cause them to place a hold on the check and send it to collections. not sure how often this is really happening, but just something to keep in mind....as a courtesy some of the bigger banks(like the one I mentioned before) will basically clear the check by the next business day for longtime customers or people with sufficiently large balances...long before they have actually collected on the funds from the check.

I am with a bank with three letters (local/national) and the color orange in a very cold part of the country, they cash the personal and biz checks I get in my work even when I lack funds in my acct to cover them.

I was afraid signing and cashing would cause more problems so I deposited. I went to my usual branch and the teller filled out a collection form (he said in case of a problem with exchange rates if the check was not us dollars) that I had to sign. He said it could take two weeks to clear collections, but that my funds would be available as usual.

Deposited this weekend, money available in my account Tuesday a.m.

Technically still subject to collections for possible exchange rate correction? Think they're just being anal ... they had me sign a form for this but it did not affect availability to my account.
