Hi--

Bovada CS e-mailed requiring a CC verification form. Well, the debit card I used is no longer valid and I no longer have it as my bank mailed me a new one this year as a precaution due to one of the CC Hacks in the United States. (been playing for multiple years, never had any issues but have only made ~5 withdraws during that time)

I told them this and inquired if a CC verification form using my new card issued from the same bank would suffice. They said that this was unacceptable and are requiring that I go into my bank and get them to provide me a letter stating that I once owned a card from them with the associated last 4 digits of the card.

I don't particularly feel like approaching a bank teller and making this request and having to explain that the internet gambling website I play on wants confirmation that I used to own this debit card. It certainly seems like this is just a tactic to make cashing out more frustrating so you will continue to play.

Has anyone else had this experience? Is this something that banks are used to? It's a semi-national bank with offices in ~6-7 states. I assume they won't relent on this if I push?

Perhaps you could just make the request without telling them the internet gambling part.

Reloaded my Bovada account several weeks ago using my debit card that is tied to a U.S. bank account (would have used credit card that I had successfully used in the past, but it didn't pass whatever security protocol is now being used). Ran well and wanted to make a withdrawal. Contacted Bovada to ask if credit card withdrawal would work to a debit card. They said no, but they could send it back to any working credit card that I had used in the past (being just that one credit card I had used prior to the debit card).

Requested credit card withdrawal for $2500 on 12/2.
Received approval email on 12/4.
Was surprised to see $2500 show up IN MY BANK ACCOUNT today (12/8) as a "rewards" credit from my debit card. Apparently, they were able to process a "credit card withdrawal" to my debit card.

N.B. I am not a pro and do not have the sort of transaction history that would make one think I'm a pro. Only three past withdrawals by check and one by credit card.

I just received a check and cashed it without any issue. Receiving the check was a little slow, but it the holiday season.

I suspect the issue is truly for security/fraud purposes, It is definitely not unreasonable for them to ask you to prove that you did in fact own the credit card you used to deposit. As the other poster said, there is no need for you to bring up online gambling when you make this request (why you would even want to say that I don't understand).

The people who are scared of banks need to remember that you are the customer, they are the business. They are not your parents, you don't need to tell them all the details about your life and financial transactions. You simply need this documented information, period.

However, it would me much easier if you just supplied that information yourself. You don't have a copy of a credit card bill that was mailed to you? If you keep records for 8 years which is the recommendation by the IRS (either in paper or on the computer) you can just fax or e-mail those records and you don't need to go to a bank. Or Perhaps you can still log into your old account and get these documents or if same account but CC # changed the old bills on file probably have the old #. Just search for a bill from a few years ago that has the old #.

Did you call support? From my experience, they are very helpful. I've cashed out about 10 times now. By checks in the beginning and then credit cards onward. Sometimes the funds clear real fast, sometimes a little bit slower but never more than 3 weeks. However, I live in Canada so the banks here might be different than the US.

Hey guys I got two payouts from Bovada in August and September, and my bank said because the deposit was from an international bank it could take 12 weeks to receive the funds. It's been over 12 weeks now and my bank says they requested the funds but have heard nothing from the other bank. Has anyone had an experience like this?

I have not personally, but I have read about it frequently on these forums. Some banks take these types of checks (foreign checks) to collections, which can be a pain in the ass. Also, the bank charges you for this privilege. It has become much more common over the past few years. Generally, I would ask for the check back in this circumstance and try to deposit it elsewhere.

Foreign checks can mean long wait for funds

i would speak to bovada and ensure the checks are still good... and then i would ask your bank for them back and then take them to a real bank that won't make you go through collections to clear them.

If your bank does any of that I would switch banks. It was reason to cause me to switch from one major bank to another one and I haven't had any issues for over a year now. Peace of mind = +EV

For those who have successfully received bank wires did anyone use the blue rhymes with place bank? Just wondering since it is also headquartered in ny and it seems the red bank doesn't work for wires?
