probably not, generally you have to deposit via WU to withdraw that way.

To say this isn't an issue with Bovada is laughable. To sit there and act like they do nothing wrong is a joke. I actually do freelance web design so I get checks from all over the world and I've NEVER had an issue with anyone of them. I've never been questioned about them. I've never had one go to collections. And I've especially never had one BOUNCE. I've built sites for overseas porn companies that never gave me a single problem. But somehow when players get checks from Bovada it's like operation catch me if you can. I don't know why these checks from Canada look suspicious to the tellers at the largest bank in the world but they did to two different managers from two different branches and it was ******** embarrassing going through that with lines of people behind me. The one manager said and I quote "I'm not saying this is a scam but I've just never seen a check that looks like this". So yes for their inability to send me a check that doesn't raise suspicion...a check that multiple people in this thread got questioned about...it's their fault.

Shill away. I'm done with you people. You sit there in your underwear egging people on who are tilted because you have no life. It's a joke.
lol Xaq got owned.

You blaming Bovada for your banks incompetence, and expecting them to pay cash for the inconvenience your bank has caused you seems pretty silly.

If you dont want to wait for your check to clear, or to rightfully pay to get the check to be cancelled, Id suggest you open an account at another bank or quit playing online poker in the US because these types of things are common place from time to time.

Oh yeah, bashing Marko because he spends more time in this thread to help people than others seems pretty ****ty. You should be thanking him for his time and patience.
It's not the banks incompetence. They are not supposed to be cashing these checks. They are supposed to catch them. So actually it makes the banks the exact opposite when they catch these checks.

Well thankfully I'm beyond the age where I get concerned if a single idiot thinks another idiot "owned" me. But I find it funny that you side with the guy who doesn't know how banks work.

Ty @ Halsted, I just didn't want the hassle of depositing a foreign check. I don't have a bank account and I can't open one until I straighten out my IRS issues. So I guess I'll just keep grinding and move to Canada lol.

I know Im going to regret responding, but, catch what?

The checks are 100% legit and in US funds.

Can you please elaborate why they need to be "caught"?

If you are implying that they caught a gambling check like they should have, this is not what happened and not what collections is for in any way shape or form.

They most likely send it off because whoever made the decision probably doesnt deal with foreign checks often and was afraid foreign = bad, or they dont trust the OP for whatever reason.

Whether or not my wording of incompetence was harsh, the point of my post was spot on in that its not Bovadas responsibility to pay cash out of their pocket because the OP doesnt have the patience to wait for the hold his bank put on a perfectly good check.

Why is that, anyway? You'd think checks from the east would be treated more as "foreign," not the other way around.

It just has to do with the routing number. The northern checks have a different amount of routing numbers so the machine doesnt recognize it.

These posts have been very helpful so thanks everyone. I have a few questions. I am about to deposit money on Bovada first time. If I want to receive WU payouts I have to deposit that way correct? if I use a pre-paid visa I can only get a pay out via a check correct?

I don't have a bank account. Can you cash these checks at a check cashing place? I just don't want to get stuck with a check I can't cash.

Seems my best option is depositing WU and getting my payouts that way. Do they give you clear instructions on how to deposit and receive payouts on the site?

Also what about a money order? would they accept that as a deposit method? and if so what are my options for payout if I did that?

Thanks for the response.

If you want to withdraw by WU id suggest you deposit that way. Yes, they will give you instructions on how to deposit and withdraw. They have a customer service number on their website and I believe at the top of the poker client perhaps.

Its not recommended to cash a check at a check cashing place. Occasionally in this day and age a check will bounce, Bovada will instantly make good on it and pay any fees you incurred, but a check cashing place might not be very understanding if you give them a bum check and walk with their cash. It is recommended the checks are deposited into an account. This way you can give it time to ensure it clears before withdrawing the cash.

I dont know about money orders or Visa but you can call and ask them or maybe someone else can help.

Good luck.

^This

For all the rake I pay can I get checks with a standard routing number that won't cause the bank manager to be called in only to tell me it needs to go to collections.

Thanks

Does Bovada ever update the payout page with Date Completed?

From where my check came from the paper it came with said it could take up to 30 days well 1 day later it available. Is it safe to use or should I wait? Sorry know nothing about banking.

If your bank sends it off to collections it can take weeks to clear. Most banks are going to make the funds available in 1 business day, however it could take weeks to bounce, if that were to happen.

Is it safe, yes. Is it possible it bounces, sure, anything is possible.

You will receive no further updates from Bocada.

Is that because of exchange rate? I requested 2/25 for wire to the stagecoach

Did the money hit the bank the same day it was approved by bovada?
