I received a check yesterday, and I took it to the ATM like I have with all my other checks to deposit it. My past checks were all taken by the ATM and deposited into my account with no problems. However, the ATM won't take this one for some reason. When I put it in, after a few seconds a message pops up that says the ATM cannot take this check and tells me to take it into the store/branch. Has anyone else had this problem?

The check is from a cold place if that matters.

Also, has anyone taken their checks to the store/branch and deposited them in person? Do they give you a hard time about it or ask you where it is from? If they do, what should I say? Should I just say I have a client that lives there and that is why I have an out of country check? I am a little worried because I know the instructions with the check always say to cash it at the ATM.

Take it inside if the ATM won't take it. In the rare event that they ask, I always just tell them I do online affiliate/marketing work.

Thanks for the reply. Does it take any longer than depositing a normal check?

Depends. Some banks may put the check through collections which can take weeks and costs quite a bit. My bank charges .25 for checks from the north and did not put a hold on it.

This is your first check from the north?

I just meant do you have to physically be in the store any longer or do anything different in the store when you are depositing it.

No it is not my first check from the north. It's just the first one that I was not able to deposit via ATM.

You dont have to update because you cashed a check at your bank.

You can update if one ever bounces on you.

Good luck at the tables.

Anyone ever done a bank wire? They gave me a list of banks they can't bank wire to, and since my bank was not on that list (bp fwiw) im contemplating doing this. Cheaper fee's (50 for 7500) but itll take 3 weeks.

Req: May 26th
Rec: not yet and no tracking # hope I don't have problems.

I have not used bovada since they were Bodog. My last encounter with them on a payout took me almost 4 months to get paid. They sent me a check that bounced after 2 months then took another month to get me a good check that I had to wait almost 30 days for it to clear banks collections. overall was about 4 months at getting my $ If this turns into same type of event I wont use them any more.

did you ever rec a tracking #?

is it appropriate for a bank to ask me where and how i got a check from. I would feel offended if they ask me. What if i decline to give them a answer?

Just lie, seriously, don't bitch at them or tell them you don't want to tell them where it's from. Say you do online affiliate marketing or something that to affect. Banks can/will place your name on some sort of homeland security list otherwise.

it has been like 5 business days, most are taking 10-15 business days, come back late next week if you're still having issues.

this is much faster/cheaper to get off that amount of money than any other option

A couple recent payouts to report, along with a positive interaction w CS.

1) Check req 5/18, attempted delivery 6/2, rec 6/4 and deposited thru atm (from up North)

2) MG req/approved 5/28; 6/4, after not receiving payout info after my last one took less than 36 hrs, I called and politely but firmly insisted on the fee for this payout to be waved. After an 8 minute wait on hold the rep came back and gave me the payout info and deposited the fee back in my acct. Should have CIH tomorrow when I go to store and I will consider this payout completed unless I post otherwise.

We all know the cons of playing on Bovada, but as far as CS, ease/speed of withdrawal, and the player pool goes, you can't beat it in the Land of the Free. Even the promos in May and June aren't terrible.

I'm going to pass along a suggestion I received in writing that accompanied a check from up North- tell your bank it was payment for online marketing services you provided. It's such a vague, plausible type of explanation that no teller should ever delve deeper. Being abrupt and acting offended could prompt your bank to look for a reason to close your acct or probe deeper into this highly secretive, illegal conspiracy we are all engaged in by choosing to play online poker instead of your state's lottery.
