No, I didn't. The amount of the check doesn't matter if it bounced or not and the bank he deposited the check doesn't matter either because if the check isn't good it won't be good at any bank.

Me too, but I'm not surprised or worried if I get a check that isn't good. It's not 2004.

Just to elaborate on what Halstad said. This ^^^ is an unrealistic expectation for American players to have due to UIGEA.

Regardless of what site you choose to play on checks are going to bounce from time to time.

This doesnt mean that you should expect your check to bounce. In fact, the odds that you get a bounced check from Bovada for example are very small. But you should expect there is a possibility it could bounce.

Is it true when having Bovada send a moneygram, the player not only has to pay Bovadas fee but the moneygram fee as well? In other words Bovada is passing moneygrams fee to the recipient in addition to Bovada charging the recipient a fee.

I deposited one from the east for the first time ever in an ATM and everything worked fine. Checks from up north wont work because the routing number and acct numbers are switched on the check so the teller has to manually enter it

I am just sharing my story for help and 100% plan on continuing to play after i recieve my money. And to that guy who said this is fake that just simply is not the truth. Also another question id like to answer is that i have only been a member of this bank for 5 month and had loved it up to this point. As far as an update i went into my chase local branch where i opened the account On monday 4-8-13 (which is th date on the atm receipt i recieved with my deposit said that funds would be "AVAILBLE") I walked in and asked to speak to the branch manager as to withdrawing the remaining funs in my account(including the 3000$ from the check) The branch manager said she had to call a number and went to the back. She came out 15 min later and told me that LOSS PROVENTION had denied her request for the funds and that my only option was to wait for the account to be closed out and then they would send a check within in 10 business days of any remaining funds in the account. I called loss provention to confirm and they did say this was true and that they had blocker her from releaseing the money to me. ThH ONLY POSITIVE thing about this update is the fact that the funds still remain avalable in my accoutn and i ahve received no other indication that the check had bounced or not cleared( I had made the decision not to bring up the check in particular before entering the bank and luckily no one actually brought up that particular issue) I am going to continue to wait out until the account is officially closed out on FRI 4-12-13 and just hope and pray that the money is still there and sent out in a check.. I will update all again on FRI after i check the balance in account upon closeout. Hoefully what the other guy from race had told me about the check coming back was untrue and it has gone through and been paid to them.
What reason did your bank give you for closing your account?

Had a recent succesful withdrawal via check for an amount less than the maximum.

It only took a few hours to get approved once I submitted the request. The check was sent a few days later and I received a tracking #. The check took 3 days to arrive after I received the tracking #. Overall, it took a little over a week from request to receiving the check...well done Bovada!

Deposited the check remotely...my account was credited a day later with the funds and it's now been over 2 weeks and the funds are still sitting there in my account - leads me to believe this cleared.

I don't believe the amount is relevant. It was from up north, written as some kind of weird money order drawn on a single-location financial company with a first name that spells the word for money with a K instead of a C.

As to comments by others, count me in the ignorant post-UIGEA crowd who fully expect a withdrawal check to be good. I am always flummoxed at how it can be so ridiculously easy to deposit and yet so hard to withdrawal.

The preferred way to deposit now post UIGEA is through WU.

If you choose to deposit this way, you can cash out just as easily, although you pay for it.

Processing checks is quite a different story for sites as its a constant wild wild west shell game.

Sites must not only find processors willing to risk their business and freedom by breaking American laws, they must find reliable ones that can do the job effectively and at a reasonable cost, find trustworthy ones that wont run off with their money, all the while changing them periodically to avoid detection by the DOJ.

Id be willing to bet its a nightmare to say the least. Im pretty sure theyd much rather process your payout with Skrill overnight for a fraction of the cost and a fraction of the headache if given the chance by that ship has sailed.

The past 3 months I have cashed out via Check. Each time it has come in 10 business days roughly. The first two checks came from the east and the last one came from the north. I normally would have funds available right away but with this last one I had a hold put on my account by the specific branch I went to at CHASEbank . I called customer service number and by the 3rd call I got transfered to the hold department. They suspected it as being a scam check and were questioning how I got it etc. I explained I was paid for doing marketing research and I had no problems before. After a few minutes of waiting she came back saying the funds are now available. I guess they are starting to get a bit more suspicious.

This is a lie.

Any human would be furious if their bank account was closed down but he doesn't need a reason.

also way to have a million spelling errors in a cashout thread where precision is very important when you have nil posts trying to get something done.

bovada only accepts asians, americans, and canadians. you are not asian so you have no excuse for your spelling errors except that you are drunk trailer trash.

This is basically what everyone in this this thread has been saying, east checks clear much faster than the north checks.

I sent an email with the return notice from my bank attached (no actual check). Bovada credited my account for the check + fee within 24 hours. I guess I just make a new withdrawal request and hope it comes from the east.

hey I recieved a MO that fits the exact same description as yours.. From the "north" (I'm assuming we aren't supposed to be saying the name) and the company name starting with "K". I was able to deposit it and it was showing that it got credited the following day. However, today (2 days after depositing) it is now on hold and when I called my bank they said that there were insufficient funds. Also, the phone number that was given with those shady instructions directs me to a voicemail and I have yet to hear back. Was your banking experience similar in that it was put on hold first for a bit or did it immediately bounce? Anyone get a payout recently with the same MO from the north that has had it successfully deposit? This is my 3rd withdrawal from Bovada and the only one that isn't from the East and the only one that instructed me to NOT use the ATM and to goto the teller instead. Thanks for any helpful replys.

It was on hold for 1 day and then was released as it went through the bank's collections department. It took a full 2 weeks to bounce. I am concerned that Bovada is still using this same processor over a month later. I just cancelled my payout and will wait until most of the people in this thread seem to be getting checks from the east before I request another.

There's no edit button. I received my name and number the following day, today. It's insane. That was REALLY fast. This place is sick.

Might as well call BS on this.....lol at a $12 fee and magically getting the money the next day....Waiting on a WU from last Thursday paying the normal $80 fee for the amount

Some states don't have check as an option and I believe some people get free WUs due to that fact

What do you mean magically? They gave me a control number earlier today. The only reason why I haven't picked up the money is because western union is closed on sunday.

I wanted to add that indeed this is no joke. I am honestly shocked, I didn't know it could be this legit. I went onto the wu website and did "track money transfer," put in my ctrl number, and it says it's ready to be picked up. They open at 8am, theres one like down the street from my house.

Bovada is legit. All americans who play poker online should play there. I deposited a small amount of money five days ago, and cashed out with alot. I actually just wanted to leave it in there so I could keep playing and maybe get more out, but circumstances didn't go my way this weekend. I lost some money in a live game and needed to take everything out to cover those losses.

Again. I am an american, and bovada processed my withdrawal in under 24 hours.

a friend deposited two checks last thurs (2950 and 2980) one from the north and one from the east and noticed in the accounts pending activity 2 days later (after it showed up as ~5.9k deposit) that there was a 2932 subtraction that is 'pending review'. odd that if it one of them bounced it wouldn't be for the exact amount of one of the checks. is this standard? anyone have any idea what it means? does this happen with the 'foreign collections' sometimes?
