They're not really drawn on a US bank. I took one of those into the bank you're referring to. They said they would have to make some calls to cash it, after 3 days they said they wouldn't be able to, no one would verify the funds. Manager said he had never seen a check addressed TO a bank like that.

Ya know, who you are matters..If your me, degen looser, it shows to the bank teller, they, or the software will/can place holds..My local birthday check from Mom needs to clear first...
If you have 73 trillion dollars in the bank, a check made by a scribbling 2 year old on a etch-a-sketch will cash..

I also have had banking officialls, at a big bank, tell me directly that a check deposit into an ATM is scrutinized far less than any other method..

Approved ~4/16
Received: 6/11
Deposited into an ATM machine as instructed. Says a hold on the check could be as long as 6/20 but hopefully clears sooner...

Emailed bodog and told them to allow me to cashout with other options or I'm done. Got a call 20 mins later explaining to me the rules of cashing out and I just kept saying "yeah Ive heard the rules but I'm no longer playing here if you cant make an exception." This went back and forth 3 times before I hung up. Sigh

I can't speak for this guy, but others have been unable to deposit the check into an atm because it is physically too large. "Something about going to collections"? Whats that supposed to mean? Did they take your check? Or is it just going to be taxed?

I'm not too worried about the check clearing, I've never had a problem with that even from some random looking checks. What is upsetting is that they have multiple options for cashing out available, are currently struggling to send out checks in a timely fashion, and refuse to allow people to cash out in other methods.

My bank has always been great about cashing my checks so I don't really know what made this set off a red flag. From my understanding, collections is just a way to make sure the check actually will clear? Either way waiting 4+ weeks on that seems down right silly but I'll update when I hear more.

There is nothing to update. They arent going to abandon checks and let everyone use WU because your bank put a hold on your check and you cried to them about it, and the hold itself has nothing to do with Bodog, but rather, as others have stated, your own personal bank. Also four week checks isnt silly at all its completely standard, this isnt 2006, there is a thing called UIGEA.

So some checks that are larger won't fit into the ATM and you have to go deposit the check in person? Are larger banks the way to go for this? I have a small credit union bank and they put my checks on hold for months each time.

I mean the hold obviously isn't Bovada's fault, but taking 2 months to get checks definitely is. I'm frustrated with the situation and am probably being a baby about some of this, but this process for this latest check has been the worst that I've ever been involved with and it isn't even close.

Taking two months to get checks out is not Bovada's fault. Its not as if they want to have to jump through hoops to give players payouts...If it were up to them, they would be sending bankwires and checks within a week, but the UIGEA has made that next to impossible (see: all other sites).

Merge seems pretty reliable. Also check out revolution gaming, they are a new site of merge and cake combined. Should be a pretty good game and reliable business site.

Requested 4/29 ... Still waiting.

The delays have definitely increased significantly since my last cash out earlier this year. Sort of fits the pattern of limited payment processors and increasing volume of players and cashouts that we saw in the final months of Full Tilt.

It beats no online poker and no cashouts - but I fully expect to wake up one day and see that Bovada is shut down and my money is gone.

Also, still waiting on a requested payout on 4/29-day 32. If you count Saturdays-it's day 37. I am not putting anymore money in Bovada until I get my first payout.

Another payout request on 5/31--I probably won't see that until late August.

Did everyone request a payout 4/29? Same here, still waiting.

FWIW when I called them last week they said the current delays are an arbitration, and once they clear the back log future payouts won't take as long. We'll see how that goes.

Once they clear the backlog the DOJ will be in possession of their website.

Logically, the only thing that could be creating the backlog is their limited number of payment processors (e.g. banks who will deal with U.S. based customers)... I find it hard to believe that they're suddenly going to find a number of processors who are now willing to work with them and take on the associated risk.

I hope I'm wrong, but my theory is that the backlog will grow and grow until Bovada eventually gets shut down. That seems to be the case thus far as my current cash has already taken double the time of my last one and I anticipate it being 3x or 4x the wait by the time I finally get paid.

I am certainly preparing for the worst and hoping for the best. Any other approach would be naive.

Quit implying that the DOJ is forcing Bodog to shut down. There is zero evidence to suggest this yet you repeatedly make this claim. Quit pulling things out of your ass and posting them on a public forum as if they have some basis in reality.

Bodog has been in the DOJ cross hairs long before all this UIGEA BS as a sportsbook. One things has remained constant over all these years, them saying go **** yourself to the US government.

Is it possible they decide to stop serving Americans? Yes, of course it is, it could happen any time, so buyer beware. But there is no legit or even circumstantial to suggest that is happening right now.

Actually, wait times have gotten shorter again. All April requested payouts took a long time, but ppl have already gotten May requests as seen in this thread.

Why are you so defensive? Do you collect a paycheck from Bovada?

Of course I cannot definitively say what is going to happen - I'm simply theorizing and it should be taken as such.

You say there is no circumstantial evidence, but how can you say that knowing what we know about FTP? We know that FTP was squeezed by the DOJ as the feds attempted to cutoff their payment processors. We know that FTP kept operating under the assumption that they'd get their processor issues worked out down the road. We know that the time it takes to cash out from Bovada has doubled or tripled in the past few months. Realistically, one can reasonably assume its due to payment processing issues. We know online poker remains illegal in the U.S. We know most of the major providers have been forced out of the U.S. market...

Why would we expect any outcome other than Bovada ultimately being shut down? It doesn't matter if Bovada tells the DOJ to shove it if the DOJ shuts down all their 3rd party processors. Without 3rd party payment processors, they are just a software company with no way to monetize their assets.

I'm not trying to derail the thread, or be excessively negative.. I'm in the same boat as everyone else... I just assumed everyone was bracing for the worst and hoping for the best.
