What I was doing to cash out was sending bitcoin from Bovada to exodus, and then from exodus to cashapp. Then I sold the bitcoin in cashapp and had USD.

However, cashapp then sent me tax docs showing proceeds. There’s no real way to establish the cost basis for the bitcoin because I didn’t buy it. I won it on Bovada. I certainly didn’t want to explain that to the IRS.

So in the future, any suggestions for a way to cash out of Bovada that avoids this issue?

Their marketplace lets you sell funds to other users that can pay via Zelle, CashApp, etc

It takes a little bit of trust but it’s easily the fastest way to get any amount on or off the site.

Yeah, it’s definitely annoying. The blockchain has been backed up recently, but Bovada won’t do much besides saying to wait.

I tried depositing funds to Ignition with Coinbase trading advance and they locked my funds for over 2 weeks even tho it said it would take 6 days on the day I deposited.

Is this going to happen time with Coinbase? Anybody else deposits take this long to clear?

You'll be lucky to get the funds back at all. You didn't follow correct procedure. Coinbase could also flag your account for sending to a gambling address.

Always use an intermediary wallet like Exodus. Coinbase > Exodus > Ignition NEVER SEND DIRECTLY FROM AN EXCHANGE. ALSO NEVER WITHDRAWAL DIRECTLY TO AN EXCHANGE.

It's littered in this thread and on their website. Sorry to hear about this, hope you get the funds back.

I just had a withdrawal a few days ago. Was normal, took a few hours.

These days, I really only post ITT when I’m having issues. I assume most are similar and don’t post every successful transaction.

I still get cashback with my bitpay card, cheaper than an ATM.

That's a No! No! I did that once, it was so much quicker I did it a couple more times. Next thing, my CB account quit working right. They were real polite, just some kind of problem they couldn't figure out. After some days, it was okay again. I'm a long time customer.

I guess I misspoke. I'm not sending it from Coinbase to Ignition, I use a middleman crypto wallet.

I meant doing a deposit to Coinbase advance trading to save on fees then buying BTC -> my wallet -> Ignition.

Coinbase usually takes 3-7 days to clear my funds to allow me to move them, but this time it took over 2 weeks.

I guess nobody else does it this way to compare if that 2-week hold is the new normal. I'll just find out next time. Thanks guys.

Yes when I fund my Coinbase account with U.S. currency from my bank it takes a week to clear. I have to wait before I can move any crypto off site. I’ve never had it take 2 weeks. Even 1 week is really annoying

So, you are asking how to do tax fraud on a message board?

After hundreds of BTC withdrawals over the years taking less than an hour to receive I guess it takes just a phone number change for them to delay my withdrawal. I guess I gotta message them see what other forms of verification they need to reverify my account as I’m sure that’s the issue.

I am a US player. I cashed out from ignition to coinbase. I then used my coinbase card. It was a small amount. Is this a good way to cash out? I guess what I am asking will I have any problems doing it this way? Thanks.

This sucks, thanks for the heads up. After a little research, it appears to me that BitPay is ending their relationship with the bank that issued the debit card in June. Bitpay says they are going to issue a new debit card later in the year with a different bank. Of course the new debit card program could be months from now or maybe never end up happening.

Over a year ago I had a CaashApp account with a debit card that worked, but I made the mistake of going directly from poker site to Cashapp without a middle man account and ended up getting my CashApp account closed. But I do know that in the past CashApp had a debit card and access to crypto. A quick check has me thinking that Venmo will probably work as I see a Venmo debit card and access to crypto.

It is worth saying a million times to always to use a middle man account like Exodus to avoid getting your Coinbase, Cashapp, Venmo, etc account closed for gambling transactions.
