Anybody getting disconnected? Playing in the lucky draw and it's happened to me about 6 times in the last 20 min

Not sure if this applies to anyone other than me here, but I usually only get disconnected if I have youtube vid or any type of media playing at the same time... just a thought.

The DNS solution is great and thanks to who contributed that. What concerns me now is why this happened to begin with. The 3 year black Friday anniversary is coming up, and while I don't want to start getting paranoid, its important to remember what happened and that it could easily happen again. Law enforcement has a tendency of prodding before striking, and I'm worried this recent thing with Comcast is an indication of an imminent attack. Or maybe I am overreacting.

My theory is that Comcast and other ISPs are rolling out web filtering via DNS forwarders to some third party filtering service. This would explain why some non-Comcast people are having the problem, and also why some Comcast customers aren't (because they are pointing to different DNS servers that are not forwarding requests to the filtering service).

Just a theory and nothing to go on other than a hunch and 20+ years in IT.

If this is true then it's bad, right? Why would Comcast do this unless they were being instructed directly by the same people who took down PS and FT? We need to get to the bottom of this, because I think this is a bigger issue then people are letting on.

I don't know how you can make the jump from what I wrote to the DOJ is behind it. I don't believe that's the case at all.

Delving into pure speculation, it could be that the DNS providers aren't specifically filtering out Bovada but could be filtering on some other criteria like geographic location for some reason.

Yes, this is what I was thinking. Geographic location, key words, content filter, something like that. Again, this is pure speculation.

Pretty sure someone had posted earlier that it was all .lv domains; don't know if that's true or not.

And that's something you're probably going to have to wait a few days to find out. Or you could just work yourself into a tizzy worrying about it in the meantime.

Anyone else notice their overall bandwidth/internet speed go down after making the DNS switch? Is there a speed difference between using the IPv4 IP addresses versus the IPv6 IP addresses? I'm thinking it depends how many people are using them?

Does this explanation cover why Google DNS doesn't work?
