I'm wondering though, if Caesar's is sold to the Golden Nugget, would the Nugget be running the wsop? Do we all need to get Nugget Casino players cards? Initially I thought that Caesar's would be merging with the Golden Nugget corp and the wsop would still be controlled by Caesars entertainment. Now though it's sounding like the opposite. Am I wrong to interpret it like that?

The point was that the NBA, in one sense, already has a league present in Las Vegas.

Also did you say hello to EastCoastBalla's wife when you posted above him in the thread?

The previous merger proposal was structured as a reverse merger where technically Caesars would acquire the Golden Nugget, but Tilman Ferttita would end up in control.

Thanks genius. On a different topic aren't you a lawyer? Do you actually have any clients or actual work because you sure seem to spend lots of time on this message board. I guess that's what losers like you do. When I decide to check NVG randomly and click on a topic poof!! There you are. Letting us all know that the WNBA is in Las Vegas was very important so thank heavens for Gzesh!

Right that's what I read but how about now? Is it still supposed to end up like that or will the Golden Nugget now acquire Caesars?

No problem ... the WNBA post was related to a discussion of major sports leagues coming to Las Vegas. The point was that the NBA had already created a related presence here.

Fwiw, I think if you will need to get a Golden Nugget loyalty card, someone from Caesars or the Nugget will let you know, probably along with everyone else. No need to wonder about it now, but thanks for osting your query.

(Not that it matters, I spend a lot of time online working, at all sorts of hours, generally in the online gaming, sports and poker industries. I got in the habit of reading industry sources long ago, including 2+2. I click 2+2 NVG and Las Vegas Lifestyle pretty regularly during breaks. I do pick up some poker industry or Las Vegas info that is useful, ahead of the typical "lawyer" curve. However, I also find it entertaining and educational.)

Much depends on what structure Carl Icahn wants to support in his own interest.

The new Caesars CEO has ties to him and Icahn is a 20% owner ..... or is that not important in your view, ECB ? Can I continue without offending you ?

https://www.casino.org/news/carl-ica...ertainment-ceo

"Rodio is known in the casino world for having overseen the shutdown of the Trump Taj Mahal in 2016, when it was owned by Icahn — resulting in the loss of nearly 3,000 jobs".

https://nypost.com/2019/04/15/caesar...eady-to-fight/

Carl is always interested in cheaply picking up cast-off properties during settlement in fights over control. The Rio real estate may have some appeal, who knows .... ECB, what do you think ?

One reason for using a reverse merger is that Golden Nugget is a private company and Caesars is not. That still holds true.

Summer League is more important as an NBA presence.

You know that getting a card anywhere takes like 20 seconds right - I mean why is this among your top 1000 concerns/questions?

I have heard from Rio employees they begin setting up in late march for the WSOP. The tables, lights and other things take a while they said.

0% chance it takes two months to set up for the WSOP.

It might be more a concern about losing accrued status as part of any merger.

Yeah, weird... this is how I read your post, too. Can't believe people would get all up in arms about it.

I'll take the over on the %.

Setting up all the ceiling lighting scaffolding in Amazon, Pavillion, Miranda, Brasilia, etc., integrated with operational security cameras, creating a temporary cage complete with all the extra security cameras etc., building the "Mothership" TV stage, etc. is surely not an overnight task. And also, the laying out of the actual poker tables is the least of the infrastructure build that goes into the WSOP, that can be an overnight task!

There's another convention going on at the Rio that finishes on May 9th.

And there’s one shortly after the WSOP too. I remember coming during the main a couple years back and the cash game room was already shut down and emptied out. These guys are able to transform those convention places really fast.

My guess is prep for the WSOP begins no later than the start of that convention, moving things into place to make setup as quick as possible.

If another company buys Caesars, there's a very good chance that the existing WSOP management (Ty Stewart, Jack Effel, Seth Palansky, etc) stays in place.

This is because this group has been in charge for many years, and it's one of the few reliably profitable pieces of the Caesars empire, so they aren't going to want to throw a wrench into that.

There is a small chance that a new buyer would want to put their "own people" in place to manage the WSOP, but in all likelihood, the existing management would stay.

For the most part, it would appear the same as it has before, other than the different venue, which is happening whether or not Caesars is bought.
