Ok guys,

Who in your opinion will be the last pro out of the Main Event, will one make the final table and even win it.

In my opinion i think, we may have one on the final table, but an unknown will take it down.
Figures are already up this year, so this year the WINNER could be even bigger than Golds very lucky $12 million cash a few years ago!!!! My prediction for a pro to make the final table is........wait for it........John juanda who is on fire this WSOP, watch out for Sam Trickett from England the relative unknown who is having a brilliant No Limit Hold'em WSOP 2010!!!!

This has happened five out of the six post-Moneymaker years, so that's a pretty safe bet.

He's right though. Nobody cares.

Really this thread is like that awkward guy at a party, who feels the need to say something, and doesn't understand why people started to look away mid-sentence in his speech about.... well nobody knows what he was talking about because nobody cares.

1st won't be >$12m. it's very unlikely to hit $10m. that would take around 7500 entries, and i don't see that happening.

best pro performance:

Here's the hypothetical...

You have $10,000 dollars to use to take a 10% stake in any 10 players in this years Main Event. Who would you pick to make you a fat profit??

I would go for...

Jason Somerville - on a massive Scoop / WSOP heater
Carter Phillips - Superstar already with EPT and WSOP wins
Vivek Rajkumar - boy genius with dodgy fashion sense
Sam Trickett - 6 cashes this year including a 2nd place NLHE for $500K
Julian Gardner - 4 main event cashes including 2nd in 2002. Fellow Lancastrian so always a sentimental pick.
Ben Lamb - unlucky in a key hand against Begleiter last year at last 2 tables
Phil Ivey - nuff said
Tom Dwan - I was a doubter before this years WSOP. No more.
Scott Seiver - 4 cashes this year in 4 different games. Won $5K NLHE event in 08.
Ryan D'Angelo - 3 cashes in 2010. 5th in PCA. 3rd in NLHE event in 08.

If only...

I'd just buy the ticket for myself.

Seriously... you think a pro is worth staking 100% of the buy-in for 10% of the profits?

edit: Oh nevermind... your taking 10 people. Still would buyin for myself.

I feel like this event favors pros on the nitty side of the spectrum. Consider some of the deep runs:

2005 Mike Matusow - 9th
2006 Allen Cunningham - 4th
2007 Scotty Nguyen - 11th
2009 Phil Ivey - 7th

Now obviously Ivey is not a nit, but my sense is that he plays like a maniac in small pots at the ME, but very cautiously in big pots unless he thinks he has a very big edge. I think this ability to be selectively nitty explains why he frequently makes deep runs in this event.

More reckless players who are willing to bet everything with a thin edge because it's +EV in the long run are less likely to make the kind of deep runs that Hellmuth, Hachem, and Ivey seem to make with regularity.

Having said that, it would be really silly to make a prediction about who's going to go deep this year because it's 95% rungood.

Hellmuth won't win, but he'll go deep. He seems pretty solid this year. That mindset coach seems to be working for him.
