Same here. I flew this by the woman today. Saying we can do are vaca a little later and mix it up between LA and Vegas so I could play this.(thinking it would get shot down) We will be looking for a room very soon. It should be a blast playing my first WSOP event.

But then the WSOP would have to pay for any shortfall themselves instead of taking it out of the pocket of the players.

Will there still be late reg until after dinner break?

There will be 12000 to 14000 players

Book your Ticket and Hotel room asap.

Make sure to pre-reg by mail or wire for the tourney when WSOP pre-reg opens.

Cash Games and Daily Deepstack will be great too during these days.

We absolutely understand that Jack Effel thinks he is smarter and knows more than he does. Using 'what we did in the past' as a reason for what to do today clearly shows how poorly he reasons his decisions.

Sounds pretty meaningless unless you know the number of entrants it is divided between.

Yes. That is when we will know.

They say Jan, but they always say that that. I expect it early Feb.

May be stupid question but how will the flights work for the Colossus? Do the 10am starters play only 6 hours till 4pm then switch over to next starters and they play till 10pm?
12-29-2014 , 03:16 PM
I'd guess more like 12 hours of play and they hope to clear enough tables from players busting out of early start to make space for late start. Don't think official structure posted yet.

I predict a giant catastrophic Cluster F*** (charlie foxtrot) with this Colossus. I don't think they will have enough tables allocated and will seriously underestimate demand...

Underestimating demand happened with the Monster Stack last year as well and I'm sure they are more prepared for that event this year. I'm sure there will be some moments of pandemonium but everything works out in the end.

Making this event happen on day one was pure genius. They have every table available. They have enough room for at least 15000 players over four flights.

Just a shame it's not happening on day one then...

I just anticipate something ridiculously epic. I mean, every single tournament fish in the Bay Area is planning a trip to Vegas for the Colossus, and these are players that never played the WSOP because it was too expensive.

Now, for $500 they can play the "World Series", they can go buy the WSOP hat and jacket and trot around their local casino like King Sh*t...

from just the San Jose area, I can easily see 500 players going for the Colossus.

By dropping to $500, you've opened up the flood gates to an entire demographic that can't afford the $1.5k+ buy-ins but can scrape together $500 and a do a road trip with some buds...

As sick as it sounds, I'm not sure 15,000 seats will be enough

Would be interesting if someone does an over/under line for the Colossus. I wouldn't even begin to know where to guesttimate and set it at
