The shorter stacks still have like 12-20 Bigs. These nits can stretch that for days

Just getting up here in England and disappointed to see Taylor out, seems his exit hand was pretty standard but how did he lose more than half his stack before then?

Is this redraw standard? 6 guys on the feature with bigger stacks than the biggest on the B table...

Yeah I think they always redraw when it gets to two tables. And again at final table.

They onky showed 2 of the 3 tables left for roughly two hours with no footage AND NOT EVEN A VERBAL MENTION OF ANYTHING GOING ON OVER THERE...then it got down to 18 peeps...auto redraw combine.

Yeah it's completely random. This is a very lopsided table draw indeed.

Fun (maybe) facts:

Of the remaining players, only Kenny Tran, Espen Jorstad and David Diaz are previous bracelet winners. Tran won the 2008 $10K heads-up NL, Diaz won the $1,500 triple chance event in 2011, while Jorstad teamed with Patrick Leonard for this year's tag team tourney.

The last Main Event champ who previously had a bracelet was 2012 winner Greg Merson, who famously did so in the previous event ($10K six-max NL). And before Merson, you have to go back to 2000, when Chris Ferguson rivered TJ Cloutier three weeks after claiming the $2,500 stud high bracelet.

When the next round begins, there will be 2 million in chips in the pot when the cards are dealt (400K/800K plus 800K BB ante). There were not 2 million total chips in play in an entire Main Event until 1991.

In 2003, only two players began that final table with more than a million in chips: Chris Moneymaker (2,344,000) and Amir Vahedi (1,407,000). David Singer, Jason Lester, Dan Harrington, Young Pak and David Grey each had smaller stacks than the current BB. Of course, besides the field sizes, part of the inflation comes from the starting stack, which no longer has a direct 1:1 ratio to the buy-in.

It was not until the eighth WSOP (1977) when the combined prize pool of all Main Events exceeded $1 million. Those eight are also the only Mains in which there was no prize for second place (1970 didn't technically even have one for first place). This year, there are eight prizes of a million or better.

Speaking of prizes, this year's jackpot ($10 million) is 4.44 times larger than fifth place ($2.2 million), matching the ratio last year's ($8 million vs. $1.8 million). This magnitude is higher than many of the structures in the early 2010s, which tended to be about 4x or even lower.

In comparison, Moneymaker ($2.5 million) claimed 7.81 times that of fifth-place Tomer Benvenisti ($320K) in the 2003 Main. One year earlier, Robert Varkonyi ($2 million) had out-earned Harley Hall ($195K) by more than tenfold.

If you want to know the largest 1st-5th ratio in a Main, that belongs to 1992: Hamid Dastmalchi ($1 million) took home better than 16 times that of Dave Crunkleton ($60,600). But it makes sense: for almost the entire 1990s, the WSOP insisted on awarding exactly a million to the winner despite the field size. It was bound to create a massive jump at some point. For that matter, this practice also resulted in the smallest jump from second to first in WSOP Main Event history: in 1999, Alan Goehring's runner-up prize was $768,625 – more than three fourths of Noel Furlong's winning cash.

Both players showed heart there. That could be a turning point hand. Like Marchington bluffing into Ensan, Blumstein call vs Sinclair etc.

These massive chipleaders aren't content with settling down and cruising to the final table. Nope they love to bluff off half their stacks lol.
