I once showed my emotional support python in public and got arrested. Same thing with my spitting cobra.

What evidence do you have that it is an emotional support horse? Miniature horses are the only valid service animals besides dogs, and there's ample suggestion in the picture that this is a bona fide service horse.

There are no "emotional support" service animals.

As to accommodate other passengers, Fred wore a teal hood so that those who are allergic to horses would not be affected by his hair.

Did anyone else notice the pug in the photo has an ace up his sleeve? ( It’s a photo not a painting and I’m sticking with it.)

That's no pug. He's a bulldog but I can understand the confusion. The bulldog is handing the ace to his buddy who, with that ace, will now have quad aces. The title of the painting is "A Friend in Need."

well i would hope a human would hold it in or leave the table if they have a major gas attack. and not spend the entire session crop dusting the other players

It's more likely that the puppy would hold it or leave the table than a poker player doing so.

You are right. It's a service horse. She flew in First Class. By the way in case anyone is interested. The emotional support Peacock that someone tried to board a plane with is not permitted. Also someone's emotional support Pot Bellied Pig that was brought on a plane did board but was kicked off for being disruptive. It also stank up the cabin according one passenger. I don't think anyone will bring a Pot Bellied Pig to the WSOP but your never know.

My dog has a legit medical necessity to have me with her at all times. It's a joke, but also totally true. I am her support human. As a huge aside, ancient armies had dogs in their medical sections because their saliva actually has antiseptic properties that has been confirmed in modern times and they licked wounds. They are cleaner than we are.

Why does stuff like this bother so many people? That dog isn't bothering anyone. There was a guy at Harrah's Cherokee at my table in a circuit event that had a dog twice or three times that size that was not directly on the table, but jumping up a lot and in his lap. It tilted some folks. It was a nice dog. Didn't bother anyone except in their own minds.

Of course, I prefer dogs to people, especially my dog. Because they are just pure good. And I am so happy they have become more accepted at hotels, etc, than in the past.

So much truth in the quote, "Be the person your dog thinks you are."

reminds me of the time I was riding on a bus in Turkey, everyone was crammed in front to back including people and animals in the aisles with most smoking like a chimney plus chickens, dogs and/or goats...there might have even been a sheep or 2...

it was hilarious, awesome, fascinating and miserable, all at the same time. We learned to Q up an hour before the bus took off so we could always get the front two seats (not behind the driver) which kept us from having to deal with all the smoke and chaos plus it gave us a great view of the countryside which was gorgeous

OK. Are there really that many people for whom cleanliness, or lack thereof, is their biggest concern with dogs? I'd be surprised if that was many people's major concern.

I have a couple answers for you here.

1) "Why does stuff like this bother so many people?" - dog owners who think like this are a problem. Not everyone - just those who allow this kind of thinking to direct their actions. Like the people who let their dog run around off-leash, because their dog is great and friendly and would never hurt anyone. Of course, their dog might be perfectly fine, but not everyone's is. So you have people who have had bad experiences, and are justifiably afraid of dogs. Or children who are afraid of dogs. Or people who just don't want dogs coming over and snuffling away at them, jumping at them, etc. You might know that your dog is the most well-behaved dog ever, but no one else does. For a whole variety of reasons, not everyone else is as excited about encounters with a dog as their "Why does stuff like this bother so many people?" owner thinks they should be, and that's when we have problems.

2) The combination of bad dog owners and bad hotel policies/policy enforcement has poisoned the well. Barking dogs I fortunately haven't had many bad experiences with, but it has happened from time to time. Extremely annoying to be next door to a room with a yappy dog. Accidents are going to happen - this could be greatly reduced by limiting the rooms where dogs are allowed. If you allow dogs on every floor, you're now opening yourself up to accidents on every floor, in every stairwell, on the elevator, etc. And this applies all the more to hotel rooms, and this is where allergy issues kick in. My wife is allergic to pet hair/fur/dander, and we once ended up in a hotel room that she simply couldn't stay in. The room had been cleaned, but some dog hair can be extremely difficult to get out of carpet, furniture, etc. This is where limiting the rooms/areas that accommodate pets would again be helpful.

I'm not suggesting that this means that pets can't be allowed in hotels or other places, but it needs to be done strategically, and pet owners need to realize there are legitimate reasons that everyone isn't as enthusiastic about their pets as they are.

I love dogs, but 100% this. I'm also sure many of those owners would be less than enthusiastic if they were sitting next to someone with their pet snake, tarantula, or rat.

A pomeranian was on a poker table. In an event that is now so meaningless they probably paid the woman to bring her ponmeranian to lay on the poker table. Who cares. This thread is insanity. “Omg the precedent this is setting is so terrible”. “What evidence do you have of…….” Dog farts, people farts, donkeys on planes. My brorhers went to china and rode with chinchillas and a flock of seagulls in a hot air balloon. Peacocks rode in a cab with me its not right. Imagine if people cared this much about things that really matter in life

A friend with weed is a friend indeed. But a friend with gold is the best I’m told.

I played with that dude during the limit holdem. Did not pay attention to the action and had to be constantly told it was his turn to act, whined about bad beats, and loved attention. He went out of his way to get pokernews to take his picture with the dog.
For whatever it's worth, his dogs (there were 2) were very cute and well behaved.

Once again, you and your well behaved small dog is a cute novelty that most people won't mind. Some people will have allergies and could have problems with it. But once places allow this for really no reason then the place will soon become a zoo. And that's a problem for everybody.

Airlines allow “emotional support animals”. Planes are not zoos.

If a guy wants to bring Ace to the poker table with himÂ….I think thats a solid sign he is a recreational player. Highly recreational. He's probably not planning to camp out for 10 hours crushing the table day after day while Ace is bored as F sitting next to him. Yo floor can I get a seat hold while I take bingo out back to take a dump?

IÂ’m badly allergic to cats. If someone wants to bring their cat to the poker table. DonÂ’t care. I will wear a mask. Or if I start getting hives or sneezing I will ask the floor to accomodate me somehow in a low key way. Now if we can just find a way to have these casinos to allow everyone to bring AK47s inside while also holding a leash. Then we can play some poker.
