I'm not sure that anyone who has posted here is even close to qualified to make character judgements about Todd. I mean, I'm not going to defend him, but it could be that he's just really focused while playing poker?

People forget that before the poker boom, Doyle was known to be a rough and mean son of a bitch. Doyle was not to be ****ed with. A far cry from the lovable grandpa type that he portrays in today's world of poker. Todd is his father's son.

Thats what I was thinking. Poker is a very stress free job when you have big papa that can bankroll at any time in your life. You can just take bigger shots and dont really have to have great banroll management. If Doyle was my dad and I was playing poker for a living with that backing I would smile a little bit more than he does. Also who wears socks with sandals and shorts haha cmon.

While not currently in his inner circle, about ten yrs ago Todd would let me sit behind and observe some high stakes action. Always appreciated that and still always friendly and looking for ways to help a friend. Sat next to him during one of his Dad's WPT final table appearances. His hand reading skills, even from the bleachers was amazing.

according to the book 'the professor, banker and suicide king' todd didnt really get that much help from doyle in poker. Not sure obv if it's true obv but in the book doyle claimed to not stake todd whenever he went broke (and he went broke a lot when starting in poker).

OT, I only know Todd because of HSP and it's pretty tough to judge from a tv appearance imo

he doesnt need to look happy or sad, people generally want to be entertained while playing poker so personalities like phil laak , the magician , even hellmutt they talk it up , Todd wants to make money , he doesn't give 2 ****s what people think of him not smiling.
