Works out well if you have a broken limb or something pedestrian like that. Not so well if you catch a rare disease.
Whereas in America they become Crystal-Meth drug dealers to pay for their cancer treatments - see Breaking Bad, season 1.

Alberta- Oil fields in the north, Offices in the south over 100 public companies headquartered in Calgary alone according to a KPMG partner I was talking to (they take in the most revenue per employee even more than Toronto).

Guy who opened pizza shop in-front of my house brags all the time about how he saved up so and so much money flipping burgers and now he has his own "joint" haha. Tells me everyday that I shouldn't be in business school and how engs all make 400k a year here.

Is really not uncommon here, construction workers and rig workers make 40 with no education what so ever.

lol @ being a professional poker player and then moving to fort mcmurray to flip burgers because poker is shutdown.

if you aren't going to calgary or banff (canmore) then one should not move to alberta.

also although these people may be able to access the sites and play, they will still have their old US registered accounts. don't think changing the address on the sites will fix that, but not sure. and all that being said, there's still the issue of withdrawing.

people need to chill out for a few weeks and see what comes of it. no need to make any changes ASAP

edmonton is ok. i lived there for 10 months. was going to throw it in my list, but decided i wouldn't choose to live there again.

but you aren't getting $38/hour anywhere flipping burgers unless you're in fort mac or some other godforsaken rig pig town.

Canada is expensive and really tilts me when I see a computer or something in Canada costing several hundred more then the same one in the US.

If you are going to move, go to a poor country where rent costs like $200 USD, and you can eat out for a buck. Anyway if you insist on Canada and hate the cold, the West Coast is your only option. Winter is still cold, just not insanely cold like the rest of the country.

If you are from/born in Canada, or half Canadian( ex father is Canadian), what do they charge you to move over from USA. As in you are a citizen of USA and been living here for all/most of your life.

Saskatchewan and Manitoba are basically the only places not to move, unless you want to buy a dirt cheap mansion in the middle of nowhere.

Actually, Canadians born in the U.S automatically has dual citizenship. Not too sure if this is the same the other way around.

Two birds with one stone - ability to play poker while it gets sorted out in the US and you can earn a few college credits.
Just clicked your link, 23k-32k a year. Can't afford that

If you have at least one Canadian parent you are entitled to Canadian citizenship, no matter where you were born. But you need documented proof of course. With it, you can get your Proof of Citizenship card (this is the functional equivalent to a birth certificate).

With this you can get a Social Insurance Number (this entitles you to work in Canada). With the proof of citizenship, you can establish residency (along with a rental agreement/utility bill etc) and get your government health insurance (this is province by province) and ability to open a Canadian bank account.

That's about all you will need, document-wise.

what is actually needed to get say a canadian bank account for a person in the US living in canada.... This seems to be the biggest issue. If we travel to canada we need a bank account to get the money out...

Is like a few hours drive north for most of you. Not to offend anyone but is a better place to live than the U.S anyways.

The good:
-very low crime compared to the states
-almost twice the GDP per capita in Alberta ($70k)
-No bailout/financial crisis, bay street is booming
-Great place to raise a family
-Friendlier and more tolerant in general
-No such a thing as unemployment if your looking
-Timmys and of courses poker : )
-Canadian players pay no tax on poker?
-Free Healthcare?

The bad:
-Housing prices: I bought a house in vegas last summer for 100k, the same one would cost 400k here.
-Higher living costs (but higher living standards too) - I was shocked at how everything is so cheap in the U.S in comparison
-Very Cold.
Where in Canada can you flip burgers for 35$ an hour?? Maybe 16 lol

A lot of Canadians are having trouble getting their own money out.

People from other countries must either have a work or student visa
Place of residence / Proof of living there. Lease / Utilities bill with your name on it.
I can see the US players lined up at Niagara Falls wit their laptops in arms filing for refugee status.
