While the US case was argued and adjudicated differently, the UK ruling(s) were pretty clear on this point:

The UK judge wrote that what Ivey did was "cheating for the purposes of civil law".

The UK appellate court wrote that "Mr. Ivey's conduct was cheating".

You really think that maybe he did not know that ?

Take a hike, p---fan, even by NVG standards, your post, although brief, was a real mess.

Bump, maybe instead of crying about irrelevant cheating/scamming scandals that effect no one, people should do this instead?

Since this huge ruling, have heard absolutely nothing from Pokerstars. GG, Wsop. Seems like the best opportunity since Black Friday to expand across all states in the US? What’s going on?

If Full Tilt could not do it with (allegedly) millions in bribes, how do you think a couple of players could do it?

Has the country progressed enough where attitudes are now different?

America is the world prostitute, Babylon if you will, the problem wasn't the bribes, the problem was they weren't high enough.

I think you are dillusional. A shock jock and a casino cheat? I hate doug and love phil but the rest of the world doesn't care for insider opinions or industry reputations. They are what they are. Gambling is historically associated with crime and conservatives dont like it for many reasons.

I believe the bible "implies" it is a sin. I know you are not a likely 7am churchgoer if you are here posting but again, just FYI, there are other parts of the world besides your own little thing. I think the threat of going to hell is still considered a roadblock in legal terms.

America has just been legalizing the most degenerate forms of gambling and it's being promoted everywhere, do you live under a rock? America has nothing to do with Christianity any longer

Remember when the casino gambling started to expand in this country. In the nineties it was restricted to riverboats that actually had to go out in the middle of the water. This is what was done in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Then they deemed this was too dangerous. So in places outside St Louis. They build a casino in the water but it was land locked in a moat. They had to recreate that is was sailing so they built two casinos side by side. You would enter one casino with a boarding time. You were then in that casino where it sailed in theory for two hours. The casino next to it had alternate hours so you could actually enter a casino at any time. It's so complicated to explain. The state imposed a $500 limit each sailing but you could stockpile chips. If you gave chips to your wife if she went broke in sight of a casino employee you were 86ed. And now you want to know why poker isn't legalized in America. Because we have state legislatures full of idiots. Pump water from the Mississippi River in a moat to satisfy the law that gambling is only permitted on boats in the river. Will do it to prevent the spread of gambling so we will put numerous land locked boats in Tunica and Biloxi. I mean seriously. Are you kidding me. You would think we live in the Middle Ages.

there is so much going on in government right now that online poker isnt even a thought on the very back page of the very last bill roughly drafted by the newest member of congress. poker is a game of prosperity and we are not prospering and depending on how well youve been paying attention to us and geo politics we have much bigger things going on . poker is underground now and in imo it will stay about where it is with no one coming after it or helping it. also with things such as new credit scoring systems and global currencies attempting to be put into place maybe we lose capitalism as a whole and the game with it but i dont think it changes much in the next 5-10 years unless something great happens . but looks doubtful.

Legalizing gambling and prostitution makes life hard for organized crime and they have to turn to things like extorting politicians. No one wants that.

I guess poker players prefer to whine and cry about random games and cheating than actually get anything done.

Well, no. They prefer to whine and cry about random games because beyond that, they're pretty much powerless to get anything done.

EDIT: Okay, just to keep this post somewhat constructive... OP, please suggest a couple of ideas that Doug Polk and/or Phil Ivey could or should do that people like you and I can't do simply because we lack the "money, contacts and influence" to do it.
