It's an extreme example, but to show why I think it's wrong to look at a persons winrate instead of won money.

Look at Whitelime's TR. He's winning in BB/100 but is down a **** ton because of one bad session at TR.

People move up to play higher stakes when there is a good game going, and if they run well they will win a lot more.

What matters is the ****ing winrate.

If you're a terrible NL50 player and lose at 22bb/100, and then decide **** it i hate poker I'm goign to put my 1k roll on the line.

If you look at the p.kr. tabl.e ra.tings site, it is pretty amazing. doughnuts is down an enormous amounts, "THEBRYCE" hasn't made any money in a year and a half as "Freedom25" anyway, Chris Ferguson can't beat any cash game, etc, etc. About 95% of the regular winners appear to be...wait for it..................................

durrr is far from bad at plo and its pretty hard to say who has the edge if any at nosebleeds the swings are just 2 sick at 300 600 plo

isildur1 is not overrated...everyone thinks he's a terrible degen just waiting to lose the big roll he builds up. Which from past experience tells us he probably will do again but thats neither here nor there. But, given the fact he has not got his bankroll up to say...ivey standards most here thinks he will just go broke again.

If he manages to get hot and stay hot and build his roll to ivey status it could get bad in a hurry for all these guys up at the top of the food chain.

Yo insidemanpoker just wanted to comment on a post you made ITT last year maybe? I'd be surprised if aejones didn't have 1mil to his name. He would pay taxes, but add his winnings on ptr to his previous winnings, and the fact that (i think) he owns a pretty large % of leggopoker. Maybe im a smackhead and that doesn't all add up to 1mil in terms of real $, but i think it does. Also oldjude listed him in the top 5-10 players he doesn't play at 10/20+ these days so I'd say that's a pretty good source for him being damn good.

I think that only current players should be discussed here. Saying someone like Krantz or whitelime are overrated doesn't really make sense since they don't play nosebleed nl anymore (I think whitelime is doing well at mid-high plo?) and rating them highly compared to today's players is most likely wrong.

I cbf to think of many names, but a few things:

-lol @ Galfond being overrated
-lol @ ike being overrated
-RaSzI is probably overrated, his PTR over many hands is pretty horrible
-I think durrrr would be overrated in HUNL these days
-urNOT is probably underrated just because he doesn't seem to be that well known and is probably really close to the top of combined nl/plo HU players

edit: oh yeah and I think isildur is overrated in NL and underrated in PLO, go figure

Well even the best player in the world can be overrated..
Probably most of the top nosebleed players (I mean those who are considered like GODS of poker) are overrated since people don't understand variance, and they overstimate the EDGE they have over other players..
