Haven't watched hardly any of the hybrid thing over the last days. Has it pretty much been a ****show? Is that why there's no show tonight?

On Tuesday, Mike Baxter said he probably won't be able to play Thursday. Lauren Roberts didn't show up Wendesday and no reason was given as to why. I'm guessing Brandon Steven and Dan Shak just weren't interested in playing in a much tougher lineup, and the action has been pretty stale.

In the old days, there was always one or more players waiting on set of PAD/HSP to fill a seat if needed. PokerGo needs to do a much better job of organizing games.

Bar the durrr episode Poker After Dark hasn't really delivered so far unfortunately.
Hopefully they will iron out the flaws and get a standardized structure that encourages people to play

Cash game with raising blinds and no re-buys or straddles allowed seemed odd.

Personally for me, I would just like them to say "cash game 200/400" and whoever wants to play, come play, and just crank out as many hours of cash game as you can produce. No stipulations on max buyins or straddles. Just throw as much content as you can and I'll gobble it up with $10 to spend every month. If the pots are small, I don't mind. Just want to watch poker in its natural form.

That's just me.

I think this is just the cold reality of poker in 2017.

It's funny re: Mike Baxter. I think it's painfully obvious that he's as dead money now in those line ups as he's ever been but I think to be fair to Doug/Rast/Koon etc he enjoys their company a lot more than he did the scummier characters of the old HSP days, albeit I think from a game enjoyment perspective he'd prefer those HSP games where he actually had a chance to win.

I find the above true with a lot of rec's nowadays that high stakes poker are these younger, smarter, clean cut guys.

The problem is their enjoyment runs dry pretty quickly when theyre playing in these nitty games with guys who really know what they're doing and are machine like in their precision.

The only way for PokerAfterDark to remain super interesting is to get whale line ups (ie the Dwan ones) with one or two superstar names, ie Kirk, Dwan, Ivey. I think that's likely easier said than done.

the plo stuff was really good but only because Jungle was there to mix it up.

I thought I would really enjoy the plo, not sure why or where I lost interest.

It's like so many hands just fall into a made hand versus bigger draw scenario.

8-Game or HORSE would be cool. Would love to see that on PAD. Would help expose other games people may not be totally familiar with.

Could be good next week with Perkins in the lineup and $500/$1000 blinds.

I remember Haralabob being a super Nit on HSP but I really like him overall and I’m happy he’s on.

I’d watch Jungle put together a puzzle, and Doug is entertaining so I’m in.

Can confirm I was a nit. Can confirm I am no longer a nit.

If they told the new guys stop the serial killer staring, they might get a few more games going and an atmosphere that attracts more viewers.

All that staring really ain't right. I don't get where these people get the ideas for doing things like that. It's uncomfortable and rude

Good luck next week!

On twitter you mentioned all the talking on the show might have contributed to people playing tighter. I think it's likely that the ability to find out hands in 30 minutes encourages tighter play. Please consider forcing everyone or just pros to turn their phone's off.

Is the game going to be 5 handed all week?
Please invite Negreanu to join.

I think the mistake was starting these cash game shows at such high stakes. They could have the same lineups play for 25% of the stakes and there would be way more action. But now the expectation is there will be these six figure pots all the time and so it's disappointing by comparison. And also they are shutting out a lot of mid/high players that could potentially be very entertaining. If the stakes are only going to go up there is a player pool of about 10 guys.

You forgot that Poker GO is pay to watch, there are tons of new highlights and streams almost every day for free on Youtube and Twitch. It's not the same thing watching 50,000$ and 500,000$ potential pots.

I'm happy with the amount of content they provide. Also it's cool that they're trying different formats.

In what universe is Kirk a poker superstar?

Ok, confirmed Voulgaris has more money than he knows what to do with now.

Also ironic how Perkins obv is the biggest spot in that game but this lineup actually is softer than the games he has been playing online

Please say your being sarcastic? Otherwise get real. Most ordinary people would give someone a slap for staring like that. It's well annoying. You can't believe it's good for the game?
