Got cold decked at the Bike about 20 years ago. The "new dealer" kind of pushed the current dealer out of the box and brought two new decks with him in his tray. This new dealer was the same guy I had caught stealing chips from the pot in a 15-30 game weeks before. This game was quite a bit bigger though, 40-80 and included some of the best players at the Bike at the time. We were playing short handed, maybe only five or six players.
The very first hand I get dealt K,K. Naturally I raise and get re-raised by the guy to my left and just off the button. We make it four bets to the flop and it comes 7,K,5. More bets and raises and the turn is another 5. Again we max out the bets and the river is an Ace, of course. Now I hesitate, sensing something funny going on here. I check, he bets and I call. He shows me two Aces! I lose 800 on that hand and I quit the game. I'm pretty sure I got fkd but there is not a damn thing I can do about it. A short time later that dealer got fired from the Bike and blackballed in L.A. I saw him again about a year later dealing in some small cardroom in Vegas.
The second one happened at the Mirage sometime in the late 90's when the games were so good over there. I was playing in the "big game" 40-80 and doing okay. Again it's a new dealer and pretty soon I'm in a big hand with the guy in the nine seat, next to the dealer. He rivers me on a big pot and I take note of it. A few hands later we get in another battle over a big pot and I have Aces up on the turn. This guy next to the dealer has called several bets and raises during the course of the hand. The river comes an innocent small card (2 or 3) and I bet out and this guy raises me. WTF I'm thinking, so I just call. He has rivered a gut shot straight (A-5)! This damn dealer got me again. I call them both out, telling the dealer that's twice he got me. He acts surprised and upset and asks me if I want to call the floor man over. The floor man is already standing close to the table and walks over. The dealer tells him that I was abusive to him and floor man gives me a warning. I quit the game and the Mirage poker room for a long time after that.
I'm not sure if you'd call these angles so much as outright cheating. This is kind of the extreme what can happen to you in a public cardroom.
