Hi, I'm new to the delights of 2p2 and have found The Well (in the best of section of this site) to be an amazing resource in itself, but I'm sure the jewel of 2p2 is the community itself. It suddenly occurred to me: Why aren't I posting? I have generally been a lurker and reader in such places but I have been inspired to put forth the following question.

What is the single resource you feel has most advanced your play?

For myself, I am a lowish stakes tournament player of a decent standard, improving I would say, but with a few very small bankrolls and an only recently aquired bankrolling attitude I have read a few books, quite a lot of articles, played and talked over games with a few friends and put in a reasonable amount of play weekly in stakes ranging from 5-30 dollar SNGs to big $500 MTTs if I can get a satellite ticket I've toyed with various sites such as sharkscope and with software such as tracker HUDs but not that much... I think I understand the probabilities & strategies relevant to the game well, but am perhaps too nitty and can play bad when I lose concentration. I think the best resource I've found so far is direct communication with other players, but am also very much considering signing up to a training site, but unsure of which one to go for. I know I should at some stage go back to cash tables but I have learnt to play on SNGs and MTTs and feel that this is where my current skill base lies. I'd be happy to continue working on that for a while before moving over to cash games as well.

Whether it was a training site, software, a book or some other activity, I'd be very interested to know your answer to the above question, and thank you in advance.

2p2 because of content on here but also because it leads to all the other great resources. From 2.2 I learned about Super System and TOP, training sites, who the best players are to follow and study, etc.

The answer, IMO, can be found in your own hand histories. Finding your own mistakes, recognizing what you have done in the past to be wrong. I don't do nearly enough of this, but I have been lately doing it a good bit, and its quite illuminating. I've read over a dozen books, read the forums, and listen to a bunch of podcasts, and everything I pick up gets filed away in the brain, but when I see it in a hand history, I usually remember what happened, and am more likely to recognize the same mistakes before I make them again.

So, I guess any resource can be better for some than others, but having a process of examining your own play would be the best resource, no matter what other types of poker knowledge you seek out.
