I was watching this weeks PAD with an all-star cast but each with his own distinct personality. The question is which poker personality would you most want to be. Not only which but also why?
Would you want to be a poker legend like doyle, who is beloved by all of the poker community, yet is understood to have his best days behind him? Would you want to be a brilliant business man like howard, while your poker skills are constantly being attacked. Would you want to be a young up and coming poker phenom like durrr, but it takes poker playing ploys to get marketing respect.
This question is personalities only. It has nothing to do with skill. Remember that personality can lead to fame, or fortune, or both. Each personality has great advantages but big detractors as well.
I personally would choose Phil Hellmuth. Much like doyle once said, he is good, just not as good as he thinks he is. I feel like Hellmuth is hysterical, and his personality is marketing gold. I feel like he single handedly holds up UB, which cannot be said of any other site. He is absolutely unique which cannot be said about any other poker player.
Any reasons? I was hoping to get reasons for the choice. Ivey is the greatest obviously. His marketablitity is limited. Same with Patrik. Do you not want to be famous even outside the poker world? I want to be the face of poker. Not just the best player.
He doesn't seem to ever make emotional decisions, is enough of a nit to never go broke and knows how to shift gears just often enough to keep people off balance.
At first I instantly wanted to say Ivey cuz hes just the coolest guy and best poker player on the planet but after short thinking Im not quite sure anymore
