He'll probably open-raise 100% of hands, iso-raise 60% of hands, and 3bet 30%.
Bjorn van Bavel 480.500

This guy is at his table since I just saw it and he's Dutch. ElkY has position on him so not jusit under average stacks.

Elky once killed his own Command Center with a single vulture during a TvsT in the Korean Starcraft proleague.

TvT = Terran vs Terran
vulture = unit that does laughably weak damage to buildings
command center = expensive building that builds worker units and is where worker units bring back minerals or gas
killing own command center with vulture = having to press "a" (command to attack) and click on command center

unless it was late game, it's really hard to not notice a friendly vulture attacking a command center since he's probably still building SCVs (worker units) in the early or mid game

Ummm... no. It's very forutnate. He can threaten their stack easily, for a minimal % of his stack. They can't threaten his. He can double one up and STILL be chip leader. The bubble is coming up.

This is an incredibly good spot.

I really, really, really can't imagine him doing this, if only because there is practically no point to it since you can just lift the command centre "IF" it is in the way, and unless he was involved in endless fighting (which isn't that common, as in every second there is combat) then he would hear the shots and see it in the minimap, take a look and instantly realise before the vulture could destroy it.

I think it does 10 points of damage a hit, versus 1500? So, rather a long time not to notice...

I thought the idea of tournament poker was to win more than you pay in entry fees, rather than win every tournament. High variance does not = bad player.

you realize getting a meaningful sample size is contingent upon the number of tournaments you play not the time that passes right? obviously his sample size is absurdly tiny. That being said, he is very good at the tournament poker.

talking to a player at Elky's table going into the day as he considered his options on how to handle Elky playing the big stack at the table. Sit back and wait for the most part

Yeah, theory says the other stacks should man up and take a 55-45 or 60-40 when they can find it.

But theory is one thing, and sitting there as the ME bubble approaches is a whole different story.

PokerNews made a good point that the blinds aren't really high enough to cripple anyone, so I'm sure most of them are saying "F it, I get AA or KK I play, otherwise he can have it."

It's hard to get a huge sample size in MTTs, but Elky has played some ~4000 live/online MTTs in 5 years. Whereas it's doubtful Phil Hellmuth has even played half that in 20 years. If we're not going to chalk Hellmuth's results up to running hot (I don't know, maybe you do), then I don't see why'd we do it to Elky's.

So the answer so far is:

-Laggy
-Runs good
-Raises 100% buttons heads up

Anything actually worth knowing?

idk ive played with elky a few times, and hes anything but laggy from my experience

i sat next to him for 5ish hours in the 3k scoop event, and he played less hands than anyone at the table, blinded down to 4400 from the 10k starting stack, then doubled up when I shoved KT into his AK bvb. from there he just folded more, i busted about 45min later, and i dont really know what happened from there.

but in my experience playing with him, he didnt 3bet a lot, he took more flops in position than he 3bet with, he wasnt very aggressive postflop, and was really patient. i was really surprised by this.

hes a good player, i just think he has a certain image built up, that make people just hand him chips never thinking he has anything. wp elky and glgl
